I know there's been plenty of juniors who have been hyped way too much, but when he destroyed the juniors* months after picking up competitive cycling and everyone hyped him to no limit...I'm starting to think that was kind of justified  

 

*At the European championships last year he attacked early in the road race and took it easy at the end....won by almost 10 minutes (!) on a group with some of the world's best juniors in it  Before some double destruction at the world champs

 

Sure, somehow he might fall back and turn out not to be great anymore, or something. But even if this is his limit, even if he has won everything he will ever win already (highly unlikely, but still), he'd be more succesful than most pro riders ever will be

I was watching this to see Evenepoel and I was not disappointed.

First road race is underway, women's juniors, and already a whole bunch of them have felt the ground in these rainy conditions. Too bad there's a cobblestone section....but they forgot to cover the sidewalk so they can just ride there  

 

Also: there's not a single piece of graphics on screen that shows how far they've got to go, this is useless

Lea Lin Teutenberg competed in women's U23 road race. Presumably, she is Ina-Yoko's daughter.

Alexander Konychev (that's Italy, not Russia ) getting closer and closer to finishing a rather epic solo in the U23 race, but the peloton is almost catching up...come on!
