49er (M)  - India leads after 3rd Round

49er FX(F) - Japan leads after 3rd Round

Top placed team qualifies to the Olympics in both the events

Laser (M)  - Malaysia n Thailand in top 2

Laser radial(W) - Malaysia n Thailand in top 2

RS:X (M) Fleet  - Korea n Thailand in Top 2

RS:X (W) Fleet  - Thailand n Hong Kong in Top 2

Tokyo - 2020

Go India Go

South Korea has already qualified in the men's RS:X through the 2015 Worlds. Thailand and Indonesia are vying for the two Olympic spots in that event.

Men's Laser - Malaysia, Thailand (China and Japan are close)

Women's Laser Radial - Thailand, Malaysia (South Korea is close)

Men's 49er - India (Japan and Thailand are close)

Women's 49er FX - Japan (nobody is close)

Men's RS:X - Thailand, Indonesia (Singapore and Oman are relatively close)

Women's RS:X - Thailand (Singapore is slightly close)

1 doubt.. Do all the events have 10 races with best 9 races considered for final ranking?

Lasers usually have 10 races, RS:X 12 races, 49ers 15 races. Depending mostly on weather there could be less races but it couldn't be more than that.

Very successful for Thailand. Indonesia failed to qualify their first sailor by just 1 point in men's RS:X. :(

  • Argentina, Australia, Austria, Canada, China, Denmark, Greece, Italy, Japan, New Zealand (sources on selection cannot be found in their NOC site), Russia, and Spain.

    • Argentina also has ski centers on the Tierra del Fuego but that doesn't mean it will immediately become a powerhouse in this sport 
    • Speak for yourself. Why should we give up our one great talent of the younger generation when we have no one else? Maybe from the same reason that the USA didn't give up Schiffrin to another country when she had 17-18...
    • A very ignorant statement.   Of course the UK is not exactly known for its winter sport but there are some ski resorts mainly in Scotland, like the Cairngorms or the Nevis Range.
    • But in women's epee another defeat by Ukraine. We are slowly developing a complex about this country, because we are constantly losing to them in sabre too. Sabre has always been Ukrainian, epee for a draw or our slight advantage but a failed in women`s foil, which is already a shocking novelty  
    • What comeback for the italian men's foil team in the finals vs the USA  Bianchi won 9-3 against Massialas in the last bout 
    • Not often your prayers  get answered so quickly!  
    • Boxing cangaroo instead of regular boxing.
    • Since it's the home Olympics I think there is a chance to have 50-60 million. It won't be Superbowl numbers, but it could very well be around a Presidential debate level.
