Also as a reminder, the Pan American Games have higher priority so should a nation win a spot in both events, the next highest ranked eligible boat here will qualify instead.

There's an additional spot in the Copa Brasil at the end of the year too. Even if Guatemala fails here, your only other competitor would be El Salvador. Sure there are other South American nations, but if you can't beat them then you don't really deserve to qualify

Especially considering that the US, Brazil and Peru are already qualified from the 2018 worlds. We are going to go pretty deep down the America's depth chart by the time the NA and SA spots are allocated.
