Swimming 2023 Discussion Thread

Surprised no one has mentioned this by now, but Kaylee McKeown :AUS clocked a 57.45 in the W 100BK on Day 2 of the Australian Trials, which is now the third-fastest performance in history (The top two are 57.45, 57.47, both marks by McKeown)

Mollie O'Callaghan with a 1:53.83 200m freestyle. #5 time performer all time. Titmus had 1:54.14.

Sam Short also with a 7:40.39 800m freestyle. #10 performer all time

McIntosh, Haughey, Titmus, and O'Callaghan are all in great form, and at least one of them will miss out on the podium at Fukuoka 2023. Could possibly take a sub-1:54 to secure a W 200FR top-three finish. Crazy.

I Accept opinions and comments!!!

I think experience prevails and McKeon wins the 100 FR and Titmus the 200 and 400. The rest about the same, the big if is Smith for me, not sure she will score her best when it matters. I trust Mckeown and McIntosh more tbh.

I Accept opinions and comments!!!

1) Why don’t you wait with your predictions until the end of the American trials?

2) Franceschi (and to a lesser degree Colbert) winning a medal in the 400 IM would be one of the biggest surprises in the history of swimming.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.
