History made in the USA as for the first time a man wins a women’s UCI-ranked Stage race.  :thumbup::cheer:

And it was a unique double because a man also won the men’s race!  Truly a day to remember.

Seems like we have got more men winning women's cycling races to look forward to this summer.  :thumbup::cheer:

A well-deserved reward for all those women who've struggled over the last decade to get three Grand Tours, all the Classics etc etc.  Well done the UCI!  :champion:

Well, whatever you think of Killips being allowed to compete in women's races, his behaviour in cyclocross races over the winter proved him/her to be a complete arsehole as a competitor.

UCI determined to destroy its own sport.  What on earth do they think is going to happen when Killips rides the Tour de France or the Olympics in Paris?  How are the public on the roadside going to react, do you think?  Are they going to fine other riders or teams for criticizing him?  It's a completely predictable disaster just waiting to happen, like ordering your ship to sail full speed through a sea filled with icebergs.

The only question is whether they are just deeply stupid, or whether they've been bribed.

Not suggesting you're wrong to argue on the subject at hand here but Killips won't be near the US team for the Olympic or anywhere near a TDF team either so you needn't worry about that

What’s to stop him making the USTeam?  They have an open trial.

Talent. not good enough. Tour of Gila is a mickey mouse race. Again, I'm not arguing with your theory. Just pointing out the levels here

1. It’s not a Mickey Mouse race to the women who entered it.
2. It’s part of the UCI America Tour which brings ranking points.

3. Team & individual ranking points serve as qualification criteria for more prestigious races.  Next up, the much-better known ES televised Joe Martin stage race

4. Ranking points eventually give qual places to ->US Trials ->World Camps ->Olympics.  So Killips is on track for those races, & an American woman cyclist somewhere will miss out.

The process is explained here.

I know the criteria.  Killips won't qualify.

"Mickey mouse" means it can, and always is, won by club riders. A world away from dozen or so World Tour Pros the US have.

    • hmm - aren't Australia and New Zealand the only nations that actually compete in the Oceania Cup?
    • If Australia and New Zealand earn quotas through Pro League, then does that mean 3rd placed team from Oceania Cup takes quota?
    • Right now russians themselves metioned that they have 2 main options for women`s quota: - Peklecova will was not included into the international doping testing pool (RUSADA is still incompliant after that scandal) - D.Nepryaeva had training camps at the occupied territories - it is the best way to avoid of the international doping testing at all     P.S. Little detail - according to Vaelbe 90% of russian skiera are contracted with russian army or other security services.
    • We had no real problems with russians for a long time. It was a normal sport rivalry. It was common case that statues of russian politicians and poets remained in place even in the Western Ukraine which was joined by the Soviet Union much later. Lyskun was pro-Ukrainian according to her statement but she kept conctcts with her former coach. That coach moved to russia earlier and could do some brainwashing. I would say that the coach may have financial motivation to do this. By the way we had similar case with Bondar from Luhansk who moved to russia in 2014. What is really interesting - russians have a lot of resources but it took them 4 yeats to find someone relatively well-known in sport area to stage this propaganda performance.       Yes, this web-site is active and maintained. The list is beeing updated. But it is not an official goverment resource and it is operated by the non-goverment organization. It was created to draw attention of the national security services to the activities of some people and provide some initial foundations for further formal investigations.
    • AIN's will skipped (they got American visa too late) 2nd WC stage (but their could compete in 3rd WC stage) and, therefore, their chances to got more than 1 entry in OG have become lower, especially,  if their will not allow to compete in Sigulda (but after their participation in Poland's short-track WT stage, I won't give 100% chances for that).   Maybe problem with entries will be solved by itself)
    • You prefer matches in USA , look at that ...    Tourists to US would have to reveal five years of social media activity under new Trump plan to enter    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/dec/10/tourists-social-media-trump
    • I would say - he did not share some part of "the profit" with someone from above )
    • Yeah, a complete failure all around. Only two individual quotas for men and two for women + mixed relay. Cortina looks like a big fat zero in the medal table tbh.
    • But yeah, as you said, their intention (if I have to guess) probably is to prevent Pan America from having 3 teams without going through the world oqt.  They were generous with the world cup qualification because it's in europe and with 16 teams but they won't be as much with their prime event.   Anyway, this doc is terribly written and could bring problems without an update.
    • IDK this seems like a big mistake on their part. They should have excluded Pan America from the first clause.    And also shoulda clarify if "highest placed" in the second statement means only champion or "highest placed not counting possible pro league qualified teams".
