Another one of the unique United States ultra-marathons. Here’s an old explanation of it: https://www.si.com/more-sports/2019/12/04/big-dogs-backyard-ultra-marathon

I watched the live stream a couple of times during those 108 hours. It’s bizarre what these athletes are capable of.

It’s the NCAA Conference Cross Country Champs this weekend. Most of the primo ones are on pay TV, but PAC-12 should be a good one, probably involves some of your own young athletes & is FTA. Live at 18:00 UK time tomorrow.

Well, like I said, big interest for :AUS & :IRL  In the women’s race. Just click on the stream & rewind if you want to watch it.

Big event of the weekend is the New York marathon on Sunday on ES/D+.  On the undercard on Saturday, the US 5km Road Racing Championships.

Interesting New York marathon with the women starting 25 minutes before the men, but :ETH Tola finishing in 2:04:59 was only shortly after the top 3 women with :KEN Obiri winning the women's race in 2:27:23.

The women were consistently running at a 2:30:00+ pace for more than 35km, where the men's race was hard right from the start.

    • Today is a day without Italians in the leads positions. I`m worried that they are not trying to revive this our sprint. There is only one Bosa and he is old. Pergher is young but she is also only one. It is a pity. After the Olympics they will probably 100% give up on the entire sprint. Our medal bag in Cortina will depend 90% on Ghiotto, just like it did on Fabris in Turin 2006. If Ghiotto will be in goodshape, he can even win 2 individual golds + a team medal. If not, it will be a flop. Apart from him, only Lollobrigida can compete in the mass start and possibly Giovannini in the men's mass start.

    • Yes, he is ones of the first supporters of Milei, owner of one of the most important stock market of Argentina (Bull market), he was peronist and for "unknown reasons" start to be libertarian.   Even being libertarian in my case, i have to admit that him is one of the dumbest of "Milei supporters" and a clown when  he is in TV, he made me feel  embarrassed in many occasions.   Camila Giorgi being with him is.......inconceivable.
