Monzanator 3,612 Posted May 3, 2023 #142 Share Posted May 3, 2023 Madrid 1000 into semi-finals: Iga Świątek (1) vs Veronika Kudermetova (12) Aryna Sabalenka (2) vs Maria Sakkari (9) Looks like another Świątek vs Sabalenka final so the women's tour might finally have a proper rivlary not seen too often in the last decade Josh

Monzanator 3,612 Posted May 6, 2023 #145 Share Posted May 6, 2023 Aryna Sabalenka wins Madrid 1000 in three sets 6-3 3-6 6-3 over Iga Świątek. Makedonas
NMQ 222 Posted May 6, 2023 #146 Share Posted May 6, 2023 This was Sabalenkas best chance to beat Iga on clay IMO. The conditions suit her game better. Rome and Paris will be a differerent story. The battle for #1 will be interesting if Iga fails, though.

Makedonas 1,624 Posted May 12, 2023 #148 Share Posted May 12, 2023 ^And on the same day Pegula lost to Townsend. What a shame that Sakkari's draw has Rybakina in R16 and Swiatek in QF. Would have been nice if she could've been in the bottom half of the draw and had a good shot at making the final... On 5/3/2023 at 12:16 PM, Rafa Maciel said: Emma Raducanu's season could be over as she is undergoing surgery on both her wrists. F she's sensible, she wont try to rush back for the hard court season and instead, take as much time off as possible to build up her strength and stamina then when she comes back in the new year, step down to the ITF WTA 100K level events to get the match experience. Would assume that she would be well placed to get invitational quota for Paris as Grand Slam champion Well there are also others like Muguruza, Kerber, Osaka, Halep...
