Fencing EFC European Championships 2019

Interesting performance by Germany in women's foil. In the semifinal Golubytskyi was completely hopeless and in the final it was Hampel who was completely hopeless.

If Golubytskyi can get close to her best shape again, then Ebert/Sauer/Golubytskyi could be a very dangerous team.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

and we're going to lose against Russia once again...:wall:

when the going gets tough, the Italian epee specialists (yesterday the men, today the women) always disappear...:coffee::nopompom:

and also in the men's sabre we couldn't make the gold medal match...:nopompom:

6 weapons (or, better, 6 team events) and not a single gold medal match for Italy...what a shame!:wall::hairpull:

they should all come back to Italy by being kicked in their asses from Dusseldorf to Rome! :spank:

I love that last emoticon :)

If the lights light up exactly at the correct moment, he was definitely first, since his light went on first. Not sure if those lights are 100% accurate though?

so, Poland win the last Gold of the Championships and make it 7 Nations winning at least 1 gold (11 winning at least 1 medal, no matter the colour)...

I'm not sure, but I don't remember so many successful Countries in the previous editions...

on the other hand, Italy won the most medals (10), but only 2 gold and, more than anything, we only collected placings from 3rd to 5th in the team events, which is awful and in a couple of cases also dangerously scary for what concerns the Olympic qualification...

and the world champs are just around the corner (the only good thing is that also last year we didn't win many medals at the Europeans, but we did definitely a lot better at the worlds)...:mumble:

    • It’s honestly baffling how bad she was in 2018. Just absolutely lost her head. Real shame too because she is so gifted. I do hope Li Jianrou sends her a Christmas card every year tho, she was absolutely gifted a gold medal by Christie in 2014.
    • Oh I’m not done yet, unfortunately. From the names that could be back but are still injured   Courtney Hoffos Mikael Kingsbury (should be back before the Olympics) Connor Howe (he returned, but nowhere close to his best so his injury is still giving him issues) Connor Bedard Meryeta O’Dine Megan Oldham
