to start the home champs, just 2 bronze medals...not a disaster, but definitely not great, too...below the expectations, to say the least (especially because 1 of the 2 competitions from today's schedule was the men's Foil)...

@heywoodu hey man, today we have a Dutch guy (Bote Schaaftsma) seeded as no.1 in the men's Cadet sabre after the preliminary groups...:yikes:

that's unusual (and unexpected)...:mumble:

well, he's still a young (promising) kid aged 16 (he turns 17 in August)...

and last year he was only 91st in the World Cadet Ranking, so his improvement is amazing...

by the way, now he's qualified to the round of 16, where he has to face a French guy (the assault should be running right now)...

If the lights light up exactly at the correct moment, he was definitely first, since his light went on first. Not sure if those lights are 100% accurate though?
