4 groups, 16 participants, 2 prequalified. 10 will qualify.

Actually, top 3 from 2 groups, top 2 from other two groups. 

In two groups there will be USA and Japan.

Apparently the point is to use those tournaments as an opportunity for the teams to have a tuneup for the Olympics first and foremost. It's... a little silly.
