I look not good for Klimkait, she is probably ejected national team for fail a anti doping test!!

This is a fake news but there is something strange with Klimkait lately, she is not at INS-Quebec/NTC (it is mandatory for all card members of Judo Canada) and Jessica would not participate in the first Ontario event of the Judo Canada tour only CBP is participate, that's the thing that is not normal.

On other topic, Judo Canada just update Staff Coaching on Judocanada.org, and Jean Pierre Cantin (U21/Junior Coach) is not longer listed ...

So Canada has finally won an event at the Short Track world cup, the men's relay at the second competition of the season. The team did get some help from a fall by :KOR, but this is still a very nice result, since it still required beating :CHN and defending Olympic champion :HUN to the line.

Sound Like Christa Deguchi continue in 57kg for the season

Rip Christa ... If Klimkait stops with many false attacks, she will have the advantage over Deguchi ..
BTW, i don't want to see Christa/Kelly in Paris 2024 ...

It was a pretty impressive performance.

Pascal Dion is on a bit of a roll too and I suspect his confidence is quite high after 2 medals consecutive medals in the 1000m.

He's actually in a decent position to end the season ranked number one in the 1000m. Seems like he's the de facto leader of the men's team now.

Canada will be sending approx. 30~ athletes to the 2021 Junior Pan American Games. A real pathetic decision by the COC tbh. Experience in MSE's are key to performing on the world stage imo.

Here is what is known about the team

Aquatics

  • Swimming (declined all quotas)
  • Artistic swimming (declined all quotas)
  • Diving: 3 athletes (qualified 8, declined 4, and sending 3 in the end). Athletes: Ben Smyth, Julianne Boisver and Queen Gariepy-Regan

Archery: Did not compete at qualifiers

Athletics :Unknown

Badminton: Qualified four, will be sending two. Brian Yang and Rachel Chan will compete.

Baseball: Did not enter qualifiers. Softball: Did not agree to compete.

3x3 basketball: Qualified both teams, but declined both

Bowling: Unknown

Boxing: Unknown

Canoeing: Declined all qualified quotas

Cycling: Unknown team size, qualified one spot in track cycling

Fencing: Qualified 6 spots, but unknown if they have been declined

Gymnastics: Did not compete at qualifiers due to Covid19, and therefore qualified no one

Handball: lol

Judo: No one qualified

Karate: Qualified 4, unknown if quotas declined

MP: I believe Canada will be sending one male and one female (NF has selection standards published)

Roller sports: Qualified no one

Rowing: Did not compete at qualifiers

Sailing: Declined all quotas

Shooting: Did not compete at qualifiers

Squash: Unknown

Table tennis: Qualified two athletes: Jeremy Hazin and Sophie Gauthier, and they will compete

    • Khm, do we know the fate of the  license in pairs? I did not see confirmation of their entry.   If they fail  must get full license (team + individual) and one more place for team event will be available, am I correct?
    • Honestly, we did not expect more than 8. 2 additional places happened just becaues your double could not grab it due to the injury(?).
    • Vivat Slovakia    But in all seriousness, it's been repeatedly stated how important it is to qualify in a team event for the next Summer Olympics. However, I have no idea if we even have a realistic chance.   We only have one fewer individual athlete competing this year than we did in Paris, so individual quota spots aren't the main issue. Where can we find a competitive team, like we do in hockey? Maybe the women's handball team could start something big, but that's still far in the future, very likely unachievable in just two years.   And to be clear, as horrific as our medal tally from Paris looked, those were some of the unluckiest Olympics for Slovakia I have ever seen. Finishing in the top six seven times (!) is absolutely insane.

    • I really hope Nordic Combined doesn't get scrapped. Actually, I believe the Winter Olympics should keep growing with new sports and disciplines (3x3 Hockey, Ice Cross, Speed Skiing, Ice Climbing), otherwise they won't feel like a true celebration of sports like their summer counterpart.
    • In fact, well, no. Hockey is extremely physically demanding, I even think it is the most physically demanding winter sport of all. I mean keeping more than a minute on ice is just cardiac. The shifts are there for a reason.   25 players rosters are absolutely justified. You must have 4 lines to keep the stamina the whole game.   Hard to persuade people who never watched hockey though, I can understand your point, but sadly, the point is wrong
    • Stats are ok, but the time she losts on the range every time... My point was that she is more likely to make us losing the olympic relay than to make us winning it.
