Żuk actually said on TV she thinks the waxing was off but there's no excuse for being slower on skis than Sidorowicz :redcard:

''the waxing was off'' sounds like excuse making, she isn't norwegian, swedish, french,or German to get away with that. There seems to have been some hype about hr,but it hasn't manifested into anything,What's her best ever senior result ?

Yeah, she might have get away with that excuse until Sidorowicz beat her on skis. That is very bad result.

Żuk's PB is 6th place in Salt Lake City sprint in 2019 and 8th place in pursuit at the same event. She also had two other Top 10s in back-to-back sprints in Oberhof & Ruhpolding in 2020. 2019/20 was her best season when she finished 38th in overall standings. However in the last two seasons she had one Top 20 finish - 19th place in Oberhof sprint last year. Now without RUS & BLR she can't even get close to that.

There was a time everyone still pointed how she won 2 golds & one silver at the Junior World in 2018 where Marketa Davidova was her main rival (she won 1 gold & 1 silver) but the gap between these two is simply gargantuan four years later. Funnily enough at those WJC the likes of Jeanmonnot or Sophie Schneider couldn't even crack Top 10 and they are finally breaking through in much deeper national teams while Żuk was handed a WC spot on a silver plate and can't do anything for over two years now (her second best WCup overall finish is 60th place).

Damn, the ONE friday in the entire season where I can't watch biathlon, I miss one of the most exciting pursuits!

Seeing 2 Swedes 1st and 2nd and neither of them being an Öberg sister was surprising :d I mean, Persson being on the podium isn't a surprise, but Magnusson winning when her best result before today had been a 7th place was impressive!

And what can I say about Sophie Chauveau finishing 4th, and even being 2nd for a while in the last lap before losing some steam. I gotta say I teared up several times seeing her so happy and emotional and the entire French team congratulating her and being happy for her, and of course the public. What a moment

    • That's so they can play in both venues in Canada.  Will mean that the UEFA Path A winner has to go from Toronto to Los Angeles and then up to Seattle.   Someone was bound to draw the short straw in that group since 4 of the matches are Central, but 2 are in Santa Clara.  Unfortunately, that's Algeria.

    • Ooooooh the group of Canada , they play in Toronto then Vancouver ...look at the distance
    • now the shooting sport takes a little Christmas break and the new season resumes in January with the Asian Championships for the Shotgun specialists ( Doha, Jan. 11th through 22nd)   the World Cup will be back in late March, beginning in  Tangiers (March 25th through April 3rd, Shotgun specialists only)   the Rifle and Pistol specialists will start their new season with the European 10m Championships in  Yerevan (Feb. 27th through March 5th) and the 1st World Cup stage for them will be in  Granada in April (5th through 13th)   300m, 25m and 50m European Champs will be in  Osijek (May 30th through June 21st), meanwhile the Shotgun European Champs will be held in  Athens from Sept. 27th through Oct. 13th
    • Rare thing not to see Hancock winning gold.
    • USA will.play in California then Seattle then California ...why hell this long distance , teams should stay in 1 place , this is tiring even for spectators
    • so, the 2025 season is officially over, after the World Cup Finals have been completed with the Shotgun events, where (once again!!!) a new format for the final stage of each event has been experimented for the first time (before it becomes a regular feature in the next season)   the new format enlarge the starting field in each event's final stage to 8 shooters and dramatically shortens the number of target shots to decide the placings   the only characteristic remaining is the progressive eliminations principle   now, as written above, 8 shooters make the final, where after only 12 targets the eliminations start: by then, the last 2 shooters must leave the competition (7th and 8th ranked)   after 12 more targets (24 in total), 2 more shooters have to leave the final (5th and 6th ranked)   then, the crazy carousel starts: every 4 targets we have a new elimination  so, after 28 targets, the 4th ranked shooter is done; after 32 targets the bronze medallist is known and after only 36 targets (provided there's no need for a shoot-off), compared to the previous 60, the gold and silver medallists are crowned   I guess the tiktok people with the attention span of a chinchilla have won once again
    • Strange schedule  16 june , vs Argentina in kansas city 22 june vs Jordan in san Francisco  27 june vs Austria in kansas city    the Distance San francisco- Kansas 2500km , so they fly 5000km to play 3 matchs
