Well, bad day for Argentina at the games... all 3 tennis finals lost (to my shock). To make it worse two of them to Colombia... I think it's safe to say now that Colombia will surpass us (even if barely) on the medal table at the end.

Good job from Delfina Pignatiello (like always) winning by herself 3 golds, 3 silvers and 2 bronzes in swimming.

The worst  Argentina day by far.......now your prognostic about Colombia be second will be ok, once more i trust too much in our athletes.

Wow, i really dont know that Colombia is so good in diving, we are doom and Colombia will be the second country in the medal count.

They're not that good... is just that there's no current rivals for them in South America, but still they're way behind Canada, Mexico and USA.

Looks like the Asian Games organizers finally confirmed 462 events for Jakarta 2018. even though it's really hard to find the details . but this pic shows the initial list

?id=650973&width=720

and we had few changes this week .

they dropped 3 events from Boxing, 2 from Sambo and Cycling, 1 from Kurash, Wushu, Karate and Ju-jitsu

instead they added 2 events in Taekwondo and Shooting, 4 in Sport Climbing and 3 in Archery.

the Taekwondo program is really funny, they dropped non-Olympic events to have boring stupid Poomsae competition !! later they added two more non-Olympic events. (63kg men, 53kg women), probably because Indonesia is good in these two weights ?! :d

in all other sports they dropped the heaviest weight. again because people in East Asia are not that heavy ! in Cycling they dropped the both BMX freestyle events. they added 3 in Archery, we were supposed to have full Recurve program (individual, team, mixed team) now we have 3 compound events ! Iranian sources claim they will be team compound (me and women and mixed) but that doesn't make sense, probably both individual events and mixed team.

they didn't change their initial proposal to drop team events in Table tennis, tennis and soft tennis but not in badminton ! guess why ? :d

the only "positive" is to see 17 events for Sprint Canoeing, their original plan was 12 Olympic events

Poomsae because Indonesia is quite strong :p

And yes 63 kg and 53 kg is where our best athletes are in :p

And archery is so problematic, the compound archers complained that they're in a state of uncertainty...

Table tennis - tennis team event is a no because Indonesia 99% won't get a medal :p

The volunteer program is confusing, and we don't even have a fixed venue list yet. Basketball will move from its original venue to the same venue with badminton, reportedly basketball matches will start on 8 August....

So far it is still ""

    • When it comes to power, confidence and match-winning ability, women's cricket has produced some truly fearless batsmen over the years. These players didn't just score runs - they changed games, calmed crowds and intimidated bowlers. Based on influence, consistency and ability to dominate attacks, here is my 2026 Forum list of the top 7 most dangerous women batsmen in cricket history.   At the top, Meg Lanning stands out for her quiet aggression and leadership. She could control an innings and then suddenly explode. Behind her is Harmanpreet Kaur, known for her raw power and clutch performances, especially in big tournaments.   Ellyse Perry deserves a special mention. Her technique, fitness and ability to increase pace make her lethal in all formats. Smriti Mandhana brings purpose with grandeur - once she gets going, bowlers struggle to find answers.   From a bygone era, Mithali Raj may not have looked aggressive, but her mental strength and ability to bat for long periods make her extremely dangerous. Suzy Bats has become a nightmare for bowlers in ODIs and T20s, as she mixes timing and smart shot selection. The list also includes Deandra Dottin, whose power-hitting can change a match in just a few overs.   What connects all these stars is their fearless mentality. Each has earned the tag of Dangerous Women's Batsman by performing consistently under pressure and against the best bowlers in the world. For fans who love in-depth cricket discussions, statistics and trending topics, Cricbites is becoming a popular platform to explore women's cricket in a fresh and engaging way.

Although the agenda has not been published yet, there shouldn’t be any major items over these two days, apart from the election of a member of the IOC Executive Board. This will be the eighth time the session is held in Italy, the last one being during the Turin 2006 Olympic Games.

    • Weightlifting We now have six events per gender with a total of 10 athletes per event.   The Olympic Qualification Rankings will be based on the sum of the total results of five events (three from period 1 and two from period 2). The top 8 will qualify.   The 9th spot will also be based on the OQR, but it will go to the highest ranked athlete from an unrepresented continent.   The 10th spot will be split between the host and universality (3 each per gender). Should the United States qualify normally then their host quota will be reduced, first going to an athlete from an unrepresented continent then to the overall highest ranked athlete.   Additionally, a "Best Lifter" will be awarded which would give the nation the chance to qualify 4 athletes rather than the max of 3.

    • 66% chance for a medal in moguls seems low though...   Men's relay being 5th in short track, and Clarke only having a 0.5% chance at a medal also seem off   Why is ski mountaineering there, we didn't even qualify anyone
