Nobody seems to talk about the current hurricane season. It appears as though a storm will be named with the letter W- for the first time in history!

 

They have even added an auxillary list for beyond that.

I've been 'following it with one eye' elsewhere, but yeah, it's rather bizarre. Luckily so far a whole lot of them seem to mostly stay away from land (not all of course), so in terms of major damage it's not nearly as bad (yet?) as some other seasons in the previous years have been..

Yep, I believe we had a W once before though.

 

We’ve completed the designated English names for the year, so now we’re on to the Greek alphabet.

Roughly 6-7 hours away from landfall. This is not good...not good at all.
