Roamingrover86 489 Posted September 16, 2023 #61 Share Posted September 16, 2023 Abhimanyu lost in QF to Retherford will have to wait to see if he can get chance in repechage . The other 3 wrestlers don’t have any chance as none of the wrestlers they lost to made SF.

Roamingrover86 489 Posted September 18, 2023 #64 Share Posted September 18, 2023 (edited) Men’s FS competition is drawing to a close , it has not just been a terrible world championships for us ( which was expected) but results in terms up qualification has not favoured us too. There could be a huge queue of top wrestlers trying to qualify from Asian qualifiers next year. The Asian qualifiers so far: 57 Kg - only ( Rest of the 4 quotas were taken by European nations) 65 Kg- Only 74 Kg- Again only ( 3 out of the other 4 quotas were taken by Europeans & 1 by USA) 86 Kg- , & ( 3 out of 5 quotas to asian countries) This is the best weight in terms of results for Deepak Punia to get the quota in asian qualifiers. 97 Kg - Only 125 Kg- Only ( 3 of the other 4 quotas were taken by Europeans and 1 by USA) In summary , it will be tough to even qualify wrestlers from the asian qualifiers with only 2 quotas available. One bad drawn & there wont be any chance through repechage. Even the final & only world qualifiers will have just 3 quota places. Looking bleak for our wrestling team Let’s hope in Women’s FS even if our girls don’t get quota other Asian countries do.
