Last weekend, the Seven de Punta del Este was held in Uruguay.

 

This weekend, the Seven de Viña del Mar is being held in Chile.

 

The top South American  team outside Argentina (Chile) qualified to the Vancouver Sevens and Las Vegas Sevens.

 

Chlie and another team will qualify to the Hong Kong Sevens qualifier.

This year, the 2020  Olympic qualifiers will be held.

Cape Town, in South Africa, will host the 2022 rugby 7 world championship. For the frist time the WCh will be in Africa

Very good decision, I was looking forward to it. At the moment this looks like an extended HK qualifier tournament, but it seems they will try and copy the Sevens Series model. We can bet on two tournament in South America, two in Europe (I guess Germany, Russia maybe) ...
