Bertens just defeated Kasatkina (10-8 in the third set), which means she meets the Dutch NOC requirements of making the 4th round at a slam and being ranked in the top 56. We have a female singles player at the Olympics. :cheer:

Do you think, the dutch federation would really have sticked to its gun and sending no one to the olympics if she didn't make the 4th round ?

Sounds trivial but a better player would have beaten Murray today. Perhaps even Gasquet/Nishikori soon.

Also, why is there no hawk-eye yet in RG?

Murray will beat Gasquet too, unfortunately. He might lose a set or two, but will win. Gasquet is really difficult opponent for Nishikori. His topspin doesn't suit Kei's game.

And there is no need for hawk-eye on clay :dunno:

For Novak, Nishikori in the final would be the best option. I am not sure though whom I would like to see, Wawrinka or Murray. If Novak succumbs under the pressure, it better be against Wawrinka.

I wouldn't have been surprised if the Dutch NOC decided to send no female tennis players to Rio.

In 2012, Miranda Boonstra ran the Rotterdam marathon in 2:27.32 under terrible conditions, which was 8 seconds above the limit of the Dutch NOC. They decided not to send her to London. The Dutch NOC is quite strict with their additional criteria.

Now, Kiki might also play mixed doubles with Jean-Julien Rojer.

I am glad to see Kiki doing well again. After her first title in Fes years ago I thought she would be more consistent. She is decent player and definitely top 50 material

haha i can't this guy Wilander

"Winning RG without Nadal it's not an authentic RG, and Djokovic knows it"

No, he don;t care for that Mats. Novak can become one of legend with title.in Paris. When Roger won match against Rafa on RG.... OH WAIT, Soderling won match against Rafa 2009, not Roger.  what a funny guy. :):):):)
