Do you think they will keep the World Equestrian Games or will they split them?

Seeing how they received bids for the World Equestrian Games, in theory they should now stick with them, as it was initially stated that multi-bids will be given a priority. So it should really be Italy or Saudi Arabia (hopefully Italy)...

On the other hand, it seems foolish to just disregard all other bids... It's weird how Italy and Saudi Arabia are suddenly interested in preserving WEG. FEI cried for help for a very long time before they finally started to consider splitting the event.

  • 3 weeks later...

FEI finally realized something. They can't make rule changes every single year and then expect that officials, athletes, federations, stakeholders, media and general public will not be left all confused.

From now on the rules can be revamped only once in 4 years. Finally.

That's good to hear. Will it be after the Olympic or World Championships?

I imagine after the Olympics. Details will be decided later this year.

Now I finally know why I've been seeing some jumping obstacles and what appeared to be two 'fields' for dressage in the past week or so whenever running by (it's after exactly 1km in my run usually) :d
