Oslo tonight: sadly missing 50% of the main home-field :NOR attraction, but still a lot to look for. Always one of the best meets for crowds and atmosphere.

Wet & chilly looking in Oslo, so I doubt we’re going to get the big :SWE Duplantis jump here. Should be good for the middle distance races though.

No, good for him, the weather clears a bit & he gets 6.02WL.

 

Jas a couple of goes at 6.10 but not really determined.

Bol takes another Diamond League win, but this time it's the Australian one in the men's 800m.

 

Happy to see PB's by Klaver in the 400m (50.80) and Van Diepen in the 800m (1:44.14)

 

Edit: apparently the 800m was originally won by :FRA Benjamin Robert but he was disqualified.

      It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.

      Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt

      The problem is, the World Cup is not a local event. Overall it's another storm in a teacup. LGBT rights in Muslim countries won't change a damn inch becuse of one soccer match in Seattle
