Apparently Meta Hrovat crashed with her head onto a larger rock while skiing with a group near her hometown.

 

She was airlifted to the hospital and is badly injured but her life is not in danger.

Lucas Braathen has apparently been operated for acute appendicitis. He will miss most of the world championship. Might be back for the slalom!

:ITA Sofia Goggia had (another) training crash yesterday.

 

apparently, she didn't get injured, but she left the training camp 1 day earlier than scheduled.

Most likely, knee surgery and a long break from skiing coming for her. :facepalm:

    • Also a first: never before has a Dutch pair participated in the games, according to media rapports.
    • The Technical director of the Dutch Olympic Committee has, using his discretionary powers, decided to include them in the team. He cites “extra-ordinary circumstances”, but has not stated what they are. The use of these powers is quite rare. They were used in 2022 to nominate an alpine-skier.
