It was quite clear that sprint was different than the other two events while these two are similar enough in terms of skill that someone at the IOC may not see the difference. The good news is they don't need to request a lot of quotas. If a split bouldering and lead event were to have the same number of athletes as sprint, they only need to request 8 men and 8 women quotas.
