K1PL events nowadays have become very much "elite" tournaments with 32 athletes (max) each...and I don't know if they will ever get back to the old glory days... oh no it's not about WKF rules or being "eligible" to participate. we still had lot more of athletes eligible to participate . (Olympic Champion Ganjzadeh for example) it's our own "thing" to not participate (or send very limited number of athletes) Iran didn't participate in last World Karate Championship as well. I thought that's temporary but it's almost a year now they are doing the same in Taekwondo as well. phelps

I hope this sort of "disinterest" would eventually get to an end, sooner or later...and all of your athletes can have their chances to travel the world back as in the past... It has more to do with politics than disinterest or financial issuses which is also a big problem nowadays. I call it "suicide out of fear of death" policy. phelps
phelps 6,951 Posted November 22, 2022 Author #35 Share Posted November 22, 2022 (edited) Karate senior season came to an end with last Serie A tournament in Jakarta (unless we consider January's Athens tournament still part of the 2022 season, which looks like WKF does).
