This will either be the biggest golfing upset in XXI century or another of these epic meltdowns in the final round I would say that 2003 had some much larger upsets with Ben Curtis and Shaun Micheel Pereira is in the top 100 and had a very fine 2021 season, dominating the Korn Ferry Tour and joining the PGA Tour with 3 top 10 results. Back in 2003 it was still a time when older guys could still win. In the modern long range game it's way harder to come out of nowhere and win a major - unless maybe US Open decides to go nuclear with their courses.
