I'm not 100% sure cricket will have its best players. There's a lot of hurdles in India and to a lesser extent the Caribbean nations.

Yes they will, July is rainy season in India so we travel to countries like West Indies (non profitable tour), Ireland or England (alternate year). So there's nothing much that happens in this month

This should come as a serious boost to country like Thailand which has one of the best women's team outside of commonwealth. More funding could mean better performance

Boxing has been dropped off the Olympic program!

I don't see any reporting supporting that from the major Olympic outlets...

Initially yes, but all the rumors expect to reinstate Boxing alongside with Weightlifting and even Modern Pentathlon has a great chance to remain in the program too, we will know for sure during the IOC session

It’s not even a rumor, Christophe De Kepper straight up said on the record that Boxing would be included in the LA 2028 program.

Great. Another plenty of sports in which Slovakia will again not qualify :p

That's my same thought about Greece

I think "we won't qualify in any of these so I do not care" :roflmao:

I will say it's sad that we didn't really have the option to choose to add "sports" in 2004 as the host nation, we could have swept the podium in backgammon for example :d

    • Also it being illegal in France means the IOC will have to test everyone pre arriving at 2030 and can’t wait till they arrive at the Games to do so. I’m sure at 2028 for some sports testing will happen on site if it’s not a rule of its governing body for non Olympic events. So far only a few sports like Athletics and Boxing have that rule - I suspect others will adopt it but others might take time.
    • https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/articles/cpwj78lxypro ‘In France - one of a number of countries where genetic testing is illegal without a medical prescription due to privacy laws - the government has condemned the decision as "a step backwards". "It defines the female sex without taking into account the biological specificities of intersex individuals, whose sexual characteristics present natural variations, leading to a reductive and potentially stigmatising approach," claimed French Sports Minister Marina Ferrari.”   ‘A group of legal experts in human rights and sports have since expressed, external"urgent concern" about what they called "the regressive move toward genetic testing as a precondition of participation in women's sport" which they say "violate domestic and international laws that protect human rights and regulate the use of genetic testing and genetic information".  The group has called on athletes "to challenge the national or regional implementation of mandatory genetic sex testing, demanded by the IOC or international federations, before domestic courts, by invoking national or regional laws protecting human rights, prohibiting anti-discrimination, and regulating the use of genetic testing and genetic data".’   Domestic laws are more challenging for the IOC to deal with than CAS. Things could get complicated for a bit.
    • Except NOC’s and governing bodies have to still follow local laws. Particularly for Under 18’s there could certainly be domestic legal issues regarding associations paying for travel to other counties to circumvent a domestic ban. Child protection services don’t always act reasonable to attempts to break a domestic law.
