Summer Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028 Sports Programme Road to LA 2028

WP is safe because it's part of FINA. If it had it's own federation (like some WP enthousiasts wish for), it would be the one to go.

It's definitely the slowest and least interesting team sport on the current roster for me. Although it would be Baseball once they ever include it again. Never really understood what makes that interesting apart from the entourage.

But I don't feel like any team sport should be cut from the current program.

yeah

and also because it can be played easily in small temporary venues, it's not a big issue for the organizers (if it needed a football sized stadium there would be no FINA to save it)

For those saying they’d like to get rid of football in favour of beach soccer, I only agree with removing men’s football. Women’s football has a valid spot at the Olympics for me and would like to see it stay.

Removing men’s football for either Beach soccer or Futsal will be the right thing to do. Men’s football is effectively an U23 competition . Removing it will not only free up quota places but will also bring down the costs substantially.
Futsal will be a great addition and highly entertaining too.
Also with the increase popularity in the women’s game and professionalism it wont be long before it becomes an U23 competition too.

tbh, women's football is senseless as it is...they should play on a smaller pitch, with smaller goals and lighter ball

then, it could develop into an interesting sport

right now, it's just unwatchable (like women's basketball...until they adopt lower baskets and above all, a lot lighter ball)

It's funny how people come to a conclusion that a sport will be dropped just because of their lack of interest in the sport.

Field Hockey is definitely in my field of interest. Probably my favorite team sport past Volleyball and maybe Sevens at the games.

But it is the one that is in danger should they wish to cut team sports.

They don't have to 20-24 entries per category in Judo, cutting down quotas in Rowing by 200 and Men's Football from 16 to 12 would do along with breakdancing.
