Hello there!

I've been looking for some old (pre-2005) ski jumping events - recordings of television broadcasts of World Cup, Olympic Games etc. I've collected since few years and gathered over 100 videos that I'd love to exchange for other rare things. If anyone has such a collection too - just let me know right here or via email. I'll surely answer:)

Best regards!

Well, I don’t collect ski jumping in particular, but multi-event games Video archiving has become my specialty. The only “exclusive” or ski jumping videos I have are from the 2017 Winter Universiade, 2017 European EYOF, 2017 World Championships, 2018 Winter Olympics, 2014 Winter Olympics, 2010 Winter Olympics

Does anyone know of ski jumping Norway Cup? Some Chinese media reported that several Chinese athletes won the gold medal there, but FIS could not find any information at all.

Cool that Chinese media is reporting about kind of a local ski jumping competition in Norway with mostly youth athletes + Julia Kykkänen :d

Ski jumper, :NOR Thea Kleven, has died at the young age of 17.

The ski jumper Thea Kleven died on December 17. She was one of the jumpers on the "Project 2022" initiative towards the Beijing Olympics.

The Ski Federation writes this in a press release:

- The whole ski jumping family is in mourning after Thea's demise. Our thoughts are with the family in this difficult time. At the same time, it is important for me that we do everything we can to help jumpers on the team with support over their loss of a good team mate. Additional resources have been put in place to help the team in their grief. This has strongly influenced us all, and it has been toughest for all the female ski jumpers on the Norwegian national team. We will never forget Thea. She participated in our "Project-2022" and had a bright future in ski jumping. Thea had all the prerequisites for becoming a ski jumper of international format, and her participation in the World Cup testifies how great faith we had in her. Now I would like your all to respect that her family and her team mates get some peace in a holiday that has become very different for us than we expected, says ski jumping manager, Clas Brede Braaten.

Furthermore, NSF writes:

- There will be no further comments from managers, trainers or athletes in the Norwegian Ski Association, and we ask the medias to respect the family's desire to have peace of mind in this difficult time.

Two Polish architects, Przemylslaw Gawęda and Marcin Sajdak, have launched a drawing of a new type of in-run for the ski jumpng hill in Zakopane. They have sent it to FIS.

    • Does the CAS have the authority to address from someone who believes the judges made a mistake in a given discipline? Pizzolato's last attempt at Paris 2024, which earned him the bronze medal, was controversial, but what does the CAS have to do with it? Even if the judges made a mistake then, the result won't change and this isn't the only case where someone feels wronged with this in world of sports. Unless, of course, they have some evidence of corruption or something like that
    • If Pizzolato will to return, would it be to the 86 kg category, or the 94 kg category, like Nasar? In 2024, they were both in the 89 kg category, which will no longer be at the Olympics, but in 2021 in Tokyo, Pizzolato won a medal in the 81 kg category.   Of course, it's unclear what's going on with the rape accusations- personally, unfortunately, I don't think he was ever a sweet angel- he was accused of other immoral things also 10 years ago, but gang rape? I find that hard to believe... Besides, Moldova has appealed about his bronze medal from Paris 2024 to the CAS- the verdict was supposed to be in February. Do you know anything about this? Did they have any grounds for this lawsuit at all?
    • Ukraine won 6 gold medals out of 10 in the women's competotion  + 1 silver and 1 bronze. Where do they get these girls from? It's always been a strong country, but they have never dominated like this. I wonder if their training methods would work in another country and if their coaches have any offerts to job from other countries? However, there is a significant decline in women's judo in Ukraine, so maybe they have directed all their resources and money towards wrestling?
    • Sablikova started on the road cycling and just almost qualified for Rio 2016. Maybe Lollobrigida would like to join the Italian track team? She has the good character and 2 medals at the Olympics, one in winter and one in summer, would be a legendary achievement, not only in Italy.   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martina_Sáblíková
    • One Wiebes is worth more than the all Italian team with Balsamo/Fidanza, etc., that much clear. Even if the Netherlands loses its dominance in the men's sprint, Wiebes will win 2-3 gold medals in other events. Just relax, man.
    • I'm most worried about our women's team in the pursuit – we have a reserve squad, but not advancing to the top 8 is a shame. We recently competed with out 1 team and had not good in 1 round. It doesn't look good. And the Netherlands are already taking Wiebes to the track team and will soon dominate the Madison/Omnium as well. Balsamo and Paternoster haven't made any progress for years and the our women's team at the Olympics has little chance to win a medal. Italy might even win World Championship/European Championship gold in the years after the Olympics, etc., but when the real fight comes, the UK or the USA will always beat us
    • Track cycling is one of the few sports where there is no host nation quota, so  will need to work hard to achieve our quotas.  It's not our best sport, but was happy to see Top 10 results in the Elimination Race for Grant Koontz and Emma Jimenez Palos (who is just 18!).
    • Yes, I saw the same thing you did @clemsonbeav (on both accounts) but I agree it looks pretty stock.
    • Also, I just logged back into my account, where it sent me to update my profile, and when I saved that, I got a screen that included a check mark next to 'Registered for the Draw'.  Not sure I totally trust it, but it does at least say so.  (There's nothing specifically referencing Drop 2 or anything...might just be a stock screen.). I'm curious what it would look like if you looked at it @esube.  https://tickets.la28.org/
