Alpine Skiing FIS World Cup 2021 - 2022

Recommended Posts

Adam with first 3 points of the season... not great, not terrible :p

Win for Odermatt in a borrowed bib number, he lost the original one somewhere over the lunch, so he had to write the number seven with a marker. :p Happy for Kranjec and his podium after the family tragedy.

All in all nice opening race, already looking forward for the rest of the season

Top 3 separated by 0,10 in the end. Odermatt wins ahead of Leitinger & Kranjec.

So close.  I hope that this will be the trend for this year.

:SUI Urs Kryenbuhl and Ralph Weber will miss the Lake Louise world cup races due to not vaccinated. Seems like there is a decent chance they will both miss the Olympics, too.

They will miss Lake Louise and Beaver Creek. It is also not possible to start in the US without the vaccines. So Lara Gut-Behrami will also maybe miss the Giant Slalom in Killington, if her second vaccination is not 14 days ago then.

If Kryenbuhl or Weber want to start at the Olympics, they have to miss Wengen and Kitzbühel, so only have the Events in Val Gardena and Bormio to qualify.
Men‘s Downhill Training starts already on 03. February, so they would have to go in quarantine on 12. January, if they want to participate.

I honestly think the number of unvaccinated athletes at the Olympics will be closer to zero than ten. The quarantine requirement is so harsh it just isn't practical.

Oh well, one can only assume they knowingly threw away their Olympic hopes, so I'm sure they're not too sad about it (assuming it has been possible for them to receive a vaccine for months by now).

    • this is not funny at all, pal
    • I think I can live with the draw , not a bad group at all. just a week ago our mafia coach said his dream group is Belgium, Egypt and Haiti, he almost got that !   but it's really hard for me (and so many others) to cheer for this team, A mafia boss coach, disgusting group of players. I never had this feeling about any NT in any sport before but still the national team is the national team. you have to like it  coaches and players come and go, the team is what matters.   if the team makes it to the competition, I'm sure there will be lots of Iranians in the stadium despite the orange's ban, that will never be a problem.
