I dont think so. Will he get any money if he jumps world record tonight? He might safe it for the diamond league final.

Imagine future pole vaulters looking at the junior world record ... i think before this year it was at 5.80 m or so for ten years. I think Duplantis could do the same to the senior world record, maybe when he ends his career it will be at 6.30 m or more.

This is getting quite ridiculous. Do you think there could be an error with bar heights?

No, otherwise Lavillenie wouldnt have looked as hopeless as he did just now. Duplantis is the biggest pole vault talent ever and will do things that noone thought were possible. He redefines this event just like for example Isinbayeva did on the womens side. Lets just hope that he wont be quite as dominant as she was.

I am a bit sad for the polish guy. He was never the biggest talent, but he worked his way up there and now when Lavillenie seems to become beatable, 2 completely new guys show up and spoil it for him. I am sure that he will continue to work very hard, but i have a very hard time to see him reaching the level Duplantis, Morgunov currently have. Duplantis was known as monster talent for many years now, but Morgunovs progression is more than surprising to be honest.
