Alena Ivanchenko with a fairly surprising gold for Russia in the women's junior time trial. Big favourite Zoe Bäckstedt finished in second, 10 seconds behind, with Antonia Niedermaier of Germany in third (+25 seconds). The rest was over a minute away from her.

Amusing thing was that British Eurosport’s commentator was Zoe’s father, Magnus. He did a better job than many fathers would do.

Via the WCC, yes, but still listed as Syrian in the start list. As he was for the 2020 ITT Worlds, among other events.
