The heptathlon ranking doesn't work quite well in each individual event either since you could be the best in the world overall, but relatively weak in that specific event.

I'd revamped it where I'd show the overall ranking and the individual event ranking, but only among heptathlon athletes.

Or just not show the ranking at all, since it adds nothing and is much less valuable information than the PB and especially SB :p

This first javelin group in the heptathlon is a little...painful :d

Most of them might as well save the energy of the run and just throw from a standing position, since they're not really transfering any speed into the throw anyway..

If Hall can run a 'normal' 800m (compared to this year), she is well on her way to potential silver. Thiam will need at least a decent last two events to hold her off of gold.

Vetter throwing her hat back in the fight for the top medals.

She was always in. The only moment her spot was in danger was between the first and the second JT.

Incredible 800 to come, Thiam needs to beat Vetter by a second and a half, which, PB-wise, seems manageable. Even moreso since she knows what she has to do (stick to Thiam during two laps).

Yeah that second throw very much helped of course :p

That one also put Hall back to bronze, which she can't really lose if she doesn't get injured or something. Hall does have a tiny chance for silver and gold left, but she'll need Thiam and Vetter to be too much focused on each other.

Most likely podium is Thiam, Vetter, Hall I'd say, unless Vetter for once manages to really pull of something big (for her) on the 800m.
