The federations had 8 days to deregister their athletes so that others could move up. There is definitely no failure on the part of EA, but the federations with their selfish behavior are to blame.

Ok So these federations should be some way punished

Johannes Vetter will take part or German officials continue to being German officials as we all know them ?

Vetter will not be attending. And yes also the German federation has not deregistered athletes unfairly.

After all, European Athletics has given the one week. At the World Championships, the chaos was even greater.

I think for those federation they should take away some accreditation for the officials. Then they would do it 😉

As a person that had 10% faith of Morauskaitė snatching a bronze, I was devastated by Bol's decision, especially subsequently seeing her run 400m under 50 seconds

Hopefully it works. Starting at 10.30 and 11.30 with those forecasts is utterly ridiculous, they should be finishing up by then.

Currently, no heat wave has been announced for Munich. And even at noon, the temperatures remain below 25 degrees.

Emmanouilidou out due to injury. She was only going to be competing in our women's 4x100 team. Such a shame as I really thought we would make the final, but as always at least one of our best girls is injured so our relay team can never show their full potential :(

We don't have enough depth to make the final without her I fear...

Also Vasiliou out (400 and 4x400). This was supposed to be her last competition although she also said that at the World Indoors. Somehow I think we will see her until Paris 2024. It's a shame our 4x400 team will struggle without her, although ever since Belibasaki disappeared we had no chance of making the Olympics anyways.

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.
