Funny because the Chinese judge ranked the Russian pair ahead of the gold-medal favorite Chinese pair!

It's actually the American judge who scored the Chinese ahead of thr Russians.

Chinese fans are furious with that Chinese judge but you are right some other judges apparently hate Russian more.

Well, he was proven guilty 4 year ago. Despite being the Games during the covid time, these people would be watched not only by public. And I don't think they want to allow similar type of fiasco at the home Games..... Maybe this dude was offered some sort of redemption .....

Still it’s reported that China purposely reduced judges from ex-USSR and East Europe countries.

It would be interesting to know what is the Dutch judge doing on the panel since usually only judges from qualified nations (in the specific event) get invited.

Does Canada have any real shot at catching Japan for 3rd?  Seems unlikely to gain back 5 pts now.

Not really. It would take a miracle. Honestly given the lineup Canada has, fourth place is an amazing result.

    • I'm guessing most of the big teams have been told to watch the numbers.
    • Something that Germany desperately needed, because they're getting destroyed by Norway and France. Sweden is also moving ahead with capable athletes like the Oebergs, Samuelsson, Ponsi and new Swedish improvements like Halvarsson, Heijdenberg, plus it's probable that Andersson comes through next year as well.   With the level that Norwegian men and French women have, I don't really see Germany being ready to challenge next year.    Have a feeling it's gonna be Perrot, Giacomel and a handful of Norwegians battling it out next year.    As for the women, I think it looks like a French year, with Jeanmonnot + Michelon and Richard getting more time to get better, it's tough to see who could be consistent enough to challenge. Although, I would love for the Oeberg sisters to have a season where they're both healthy throughout. It's also uncertain what kind of Vittozzi we're getting, if Grotian has enough time to become a challenger and in what kind of form will Preuss come back to, after her first ever season with no health issues.
