Strange though, the FIS lists it as 'not confirmed by NOC'.  Not sure how that is possible if it was claimed through reallocation.

Maybe the Nf accepted with the condition of NOC approval,

Something strange in Halfpipe (men):
:GER won 3 quotas but only nominated André Höflich as the other two German athletes did not achieve the national qualification requirement

BUT: According to the official FIS page German NOC accepted all three quotas

I already sent a mail to the DOSB and asked them for an explanation. It is not a common precedure to accept quotas and don't nominate athletes in Germany (e.g. we declined two quotas in womens freestyle moguls as well).

Does anyone has further information on this?

I'm not super familiar with these two athletes but it's worth remembering that in park and pipe there is a lot that goes on that isn't captured by FIS rankings.

Well they picked her as their flag bearer so I am guessing the NOC is in the loop.  Still weird though. https://www.coa.ad/maeva-estevez-classificada-per-beijing-2022/

Germany, Canada and Andorra (probably more) have had issues with the FIS list, so I think its a FIS issue.

Looks like Canada has reaccepted 4 of the 5 quotas it declined in PGS. 3 Of the 4 athletes who stand to go now all posted they are going to the Olympics 3 days ago on Instagram.

Now I think the federation did not want to send them, these 4 appealed and it ruled in the favour. There has been no word from the COC or Snowboard Canada. This is all strange and bizarre. Ranks at the top for me for weird team selection stories. Congrats to the athletes and this brings Canada back to the second largest team.

Edit: This confirms everything: https://ici.radio-canada.ca/amp/1856648/planche-sebastien-beaulieu-olympique-chine-pekin (Sorry in French)

It’s on the Beijing 2022 entries. Sébastien Beaulieu, Kaylie Buck, Jennifer Hawkrigg and Jules Lefebvre have all been added to the team.

Absolutely no word about this from Snowboard Canada xD

    • Yes, she was unlucky, but it could just as easily have happened during some training, like with Gut, etc. Brignone has been essentially injury-free throughout her long career, which is very rare in this sport. It's unfortunate that this happened after her best season ever and just 1 year before the Olympic Games in home, when she just missing of win the Olympic gold medal in her great career. With the gold in Cortina, she would have become a legend of Italian skiing, on par with Tomba. Now she's still the best Italian woman in history, but the miss of Olympic gold will likely haunt her for the rest of her life.
    • It sad to see this season, as I remember, that Fede last year was winning everywhere, when she competed and finished and now we haven't even managed a single podium in the giant slalom, and it'll probably stay that way until the end of the season. Without Fede and Bassino, unfortunately, we're out of good cards in this event. For me Goggia should probably skip the giant slalom at all, becouse she has no chance of a podium and she risks further injuries. If even Goggia finish 8th or 10th? What difference does it make? If she couldn't get a podium finish today with so many DNFs at the top skiers, she probably never do. Della Mea is OK this year, but let's be honest, she's not World Cup podium material. Overall, it's a sad picture, and we have a 0% chance of anything in Cortina unless a miracle happens in Brignone return.   We have two chances for Goggia in DH and SG + maybe a dark horse in Pirovano/Curtoni in SG. That's all. In technical events, we have a 0% chance of medaling, and that's sad. Our federation also lost Colturi in this situation... In any normal country, the head of such a federation should be dismissed for disciplinary reasons and this case should be investigated by the minister, or even the prime minister, but not in Italy...
    • Mikaela Shiffrin  off the podium today (Edit: Oops...I thought this was slalom, not Giant Slalom.).  Nina Astner  entered the 2nd run in 30th place, but had the best second run, jumping up 18 places to 12th.
    • Maryna Gąsienica-Daniel with a 5th place PB in Semmering GS!
