France won’t double up in men’s singles and doubles. The Popov brothers lost early at the European Championships, which means that Corvee/Labar have secured their spot on the French team.

that's right

The Race to Paris miscalculation drama entered a new chapter with FFBaD now wants both French pairs qualified.

Not sure how they will deal with this, for sure 17 pairs will be causing problems in the group format. Even if they created a special preliminary match between both French pairs, an extra headache might happen if the Popovs win (since it will open an extra MS quota)

Whom do you feel is likely to take the Universality quotas. Will it be :NEP and :TLS in men and :MDV and :ESA in women?

Very unlikely :ESA will get one since they've already qualified one athlete in men's singles.

Well, I think :CZE badminton Federation will closely watch this as :CZE pair Medrek/Král should be taking the last qualifying spot. I understand that France is the host but in order to enter 2 pairs, they would have to have best pair ranked in top 8. The rules are strict, but 17 pairs, it would be too troublesome. But at some point, they can actually choose which pair they want to qualify. Or they want to enter 2 pairs because Popovs are both high ranked players in singles so they could use this as a leverage??

I don't think Horngacher will force him to withdraw.
