 Now someone has to stop Jade Jones in 57kg

well, the Slovenian referee got really close last night...

she literally invented a few Kyong-ho against Jade, so to put her with 9 and still almost a minute to go...only her immense class avoided a shameful ending...:facepalm::wall:

and also the semifinal between Mandic and the Korean girl almost ended in a farce, when the judges gave the Korean 2 points well after the central ref called a stop and a kyong-ho against the Korean (which was then also cancelled by the jury after the video replay)...only a miracolous kick at the last second saved the Serbian and allowed her to reach the final (but then was quite empty on a mental level after that semifinal and lost without really fight against the Polish girl)...

everytime I watch TKD, it's always the same story like in Boxing...I can't stand those judges anymore...:stop:

How is Russia suddenly strong is men's taekwondo? In each Olympic category they have a great competitor. Maybe new coach?

@MHSN

I don't think they have a new coach, they started their progress few years ago and they are getting better and better.

    • Until recently, Ukrainian fencing was just Kharlan and sabre. Maybe épée sometimes. I don't remember them ever being strong in foil. There was a time when Russia, Romania and Poland were strong in foil at that time when Italy dominated but I don't remember Ukraine anymore.
    • No surprise with Aaron Judge winning AL MVP and Shohei Ohtani winning NL MVP awards.   Ohtani is the second player in history to win MVP in both leagues. Frank Robinson (1961 Reds & 1966 Orioles) was the only one before.

    • Argentina also has ski centers on the Tierra del Fuego but that doesn't mean it will immediately become a powerhouse in this sport
    • Speak for yourself. Why should we give up our one great talent of the younger generation when we have no one else? Maybe from the same reason that the USA didn't give up Schiffrin to another country when she had 17-18...
    • A very ignorant statement.   Of course the UK is not exactly known for its winter sport but there are some ski resorts mainly in Scotland, like the Cairngorms or the Nevis Range.
    • But in women's epee another defeat by Ukraine. We are slowly developing a complex about this country, because we are constantly losing to them in sabre too. Sabre has always been Ukrainian, epee for a draw or our slight advantage but a failed in women`s foil, which is already a shocking novelty
