Walmart has removed guns from public display in their stories in anticipation of civil unrest following the election. New Zealand has also warned all its citizens in the U.S. if possible political violence.

Why does the election have to be in the middle of the week though? (Or is it like that everywhere else except here? I have no idea )

Here’s a pretty good non-partisan explanation from Georgetown University.

Amy Coney Barrett has been confirmed as a Supreme Court Justice in record time before the election.

Of course not.  Your liberal friends never tell people there are heavy ecological costs associated with their policy preferences.  In fact, solar farms also kill large numbers of birds.

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/solar-farms-threaten-birds/

I’m very familiar with the battle over solar farms after what they’ve done to and for my community. The biggest issue here isn’t necessarily the birds, but the wildflower and Joshua tree habitat these companies raze to construct the solar farms. However, there are solutions to those problems. It just requires better planning. We need to utilize urban infrastructure to make these solar farms, instead of natural areas.

Regarding solar farms from that article: “I strongly believe there’s a way to show the birds that the PV panels are solid surfaces, not water,” said Ileene Anderson, a scientist at the Center for Biological Diversity. “We can safeguard our irreplaceable wildlife, like the Yuma clapper rail, through thoughtful implementation of renewable energy projects,” Anderson said.

While “green” energy has some environmental hurdles to clear, let’s not forgot about the “wonderful” world of oil, gas, and other fossil fuels. Quote from the same article: “The effects of wind turbines on birds, which research suggests kill far fewer birds per megawatt hour than do fossil fuel plants.”

Conservationists en masse still support green/renewable energy, they just believe we need be more careful with the infrastructure.

Interesting. I live near a massive wind turbine complex, and never knew this was a problem.

I laugh my ass off when Trump accuses Biden/Harris of being “further left than Sanders,” or “a socialist.” He nearly lost the Democratic primary because he wasn’t progressive/liberal enough.

I have nothing against AOC but this comes off just as desperate as anything politicians have done to show that they are "one of us". I cringe at the notion that the next generation of politicians will promote themselves with stunts like these.

While she obviously did this for political reasons (trying to get more people to vote/raise her profile), she really did do her best to just play a genuine/entertaining game. She came off as very relatable. I know this was a political “stunt,” but it really did seem to bring a smile to many people’s faces in year where there hasn’t been much to smile about.

In an effort to remind Young Americans to vote, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez decided to play “Among Us” with some popular Twitch streamers and US Rep. Ilhan Omar. I’d say it’s going pretty well :p

Trump and his nomination for Nobel prize (and for good reason unlike Obama..) is only one great example of his strong foreign policies, on global scale he has done a lot and no one can take it from him.

Yep, nothing says champion of foreign policy like:

- pulling the U.S. out of the Paris Accords

- pulling the U.S. out of the WHO (during a global pandemic)

- betraying the Kurds, our one solid ally in the Middle East

- cuddling up to Saudi Arabia after they murdered a journalist working for a U.S. publication

- calling multiple countries “shitholes”

- banning people from multiple countries from entering the U.S. (primarily because of the religion they practice)

- refusing to give asylum to refugees or even conduct the process in the correct manner under international law
