might be able to enter a relay in cross country skiing should they accept a reallocation in both genders @heywoodu. They're the first NOC outside a reallocation slot on the men's side, but already rejected their original quota, so it seems unlikely they'll accept this one.

Thailand this cycle has been impressive. Alpine, cross country, luge, skeleton, bobsleigh and short track. Possible quota in freestyle.
I was going to post something about them tomorrow. It shows you what an honest investment into winter sports can achieve though (at least at the youth level).

It's nice to see many "exotic nations" will or are close to competing in this event, I'm hoping most of these nations will be able to qualify to Cortina Olympics already
I wouldn’t be shocked the see the number of participating NOCs shrink between 2022 and 2026. There are less quotas available and the qualification requirements in alpine skiing have increased in difficulty.
It would be a nice surprise to see more non-traditional NOCs at the Games, but it doesn’t feel like the conditions are right to encourage or facilitate their participation in 2026.
Hopefully my prediction is wrong though.

is getting close to a reallocation in women's alpine skiing. They've two spots off a quota by my math, currently (and assuming no NOCs have been offered reallocations yet.)
should be eligible for a reallocated men's quota as well.

NOC's have to choose whether to enter the boys' or girls' tournament instead of both if they qualified in both?
Yes, it was also like that four years ago.
It actually created some interesting dynamics (in terms of entries). was the only NOC ranked in the top five to field a women’s team. Meanwhile, had to field a men’s team after the NOCs ranked 6-10 all choose women’s teams to avoid the top nations and increase their medal chances.

The trend of para sport integration at major multi-sports games continues. The FISU will include two para sport competitions for the first time in 2025.
