to the women's K4 final and they also win the quotas, just like
4 spots remain.
Here we go, probably the most important canoe races are coming up since Tokyo, the K4 semis for the Olympic qualification.
ExpandAgain delay.
![]()
Yeah, the session of today's final is delayed to 16:30 CET.
There are three athletes in women's canoe who are in both the C1 and C2 final.
Luzan
Cirilo Duboys
Jacome
So there won't be much doubling-up in women's canoe. The athletes in the C1 B-final won't be able to win quotas.
I guess the men's K4 1000m is back in some form because the semis and finals are so close to each other now that it might as well be viewed as 2 x 500m event. Especially because the semis will be as hard as the final itself. Same applies to the women's K4, which should give an advantage to the 3 boats who are resting.
Women's C1 finalists
This is one of our weaker Olympic events, I doubt that we will have 3 athlete quotas in women's canoe.
ExpandI don't given a shit what an official in an authoritarian state thinks. Most likely daddy Orban told him to talk shit about Germany. Sadly they don't realize that even in Germany noone gives a shit about canoeing, so even if he would have planted some dead rats in his appartment, noone in Germany or any other country outside of Hungary would have given a shit. Great that Hungary provided a stream in 2019, but the reality is that there are maybe 5 people who would have watched it and outside of authoritarian countries you actually can't waste as much tax payer money as you want. I also didn't expect the athletics world championships to be remotely as good as the 2009 world championships in Berlin were, but i also didn't expect them to turn into such a shitshow (for example golf carts crashing into each other injuring athletes, no/insufficient cooling in the call room). Hungary needs to get its shit together if it wants to keep hosting 50 % of all global competitions.
You really need to take a chill pill because you once again lost the plot and aren't able to have a proper conversation.
Bad weather in Duisburg, the races are delayed. I think we currently have a 1 and a half hour delay, but that might be increased later on.
ExpandAlways weird when you rely on the opinion of one person to make a judgement. Of course you can decide to take his words as truth, but obviously you can't expect others to then take your comment seriously. The funny thing is that athletes also complained about the missing/insufficient AC at the athletics world championships taking place in Hungary of all places right now ...
Haven't read anything from you criticizing the organization of that competition, but maybe i just missed it?
If we add the fact that your claim that there is no streaming was apparently also wrong and that you act as if Szeged is heaven on earth when it comes to canoeing, the most likely conclusion is that you an agenda. Sadly too obvious, maybe next time.
Hüttner knows what he's talking about, whether you like it or not. We have to spend extra money because the Germans literally didn't provide enough food for our team.
And I am not talking about the stream. I am talking about the TV signal, which we don't have. MTVA broadcasted the semis 4 years ago in Szeged because those were crucial races for the Olympic qualification and I am sure we provided that TV signal for everyone. Here's it's locked behind a paywall at a streaming service and it's not on TV.
I obviously don't expect perfect organization, we have our issues at the Athletics Worlds. Couple of issues are fine. But I expect Germany to organize something on the level of Szeged 2019 and I am not seeing that based on the complaints coming from our team and the lack of TV broadcast.
Edited by VektorCsaba Hüttner, the Hungarian head coach, says that the organization of the Worlds is terrible. They didn't get enough food, there's no AC at the hotel, and the venue isn't big enough for the combined senior + para World Champs. On top of that multiple Hungarian athletes are displeased with the starters, they say that the start of races are unpredictable.
And yeah, on top of all of that we don't have TV broadcast of the semis and the heats at the Worlds where those races are very important for the Olympic qualification. I think the Hungarian TV would broadcast those races but they aren't getting a TV signal from the Germans.
I know nothing can be as professional in Canoe Sprint as the events held at us in Szeged, but really, we are talking about the other big Canoe Sprint nation here, I would expect more from Germany.

ExpandDidnt they also change rule about one athlete-multiple boat? I think that i read something like that.
But reallocations are certain..
![]()
As far as I know the same kind of rule applies to qualification, the quota in the smaller boat gets reallocated in that event, as long as they can fill a new boat if we are talking about K2/C2.
ExpandSo, top 6 will get quota.
Technically, yes, but in reality, there will be reallocations. Csipes for example is in the Hungarian K4 boat, and unless a literal disaster happens for us, she will be in qualifying position in both K4 and K1. Meaning that the K1 quota will be reallocated.
Women's K1 finalists
Expandthere will remain 2 quotas for europe during the european tqo?
Yeah, one more C2 boat will qualify from Europe at the continental qualifiers.
Women's C2 finalists
8 out of the 9 boats will qualify to Paris
I will try to use this during the qualification at the Worlds to make sense of what's happening.
"Q" means gained athlete quota.
"D" will mean doubling-up, meaning that there has to be a reallocation because the athlete already qualified in another event.

ExpandLet me try to discuss with you guys make it clear how many crews will actually qualify from this WCH. Please, correct me whether I made a mistake.
MEN
K1 1000m - 7 boats
K2 500m - 6 boats
K4 500m - 10 boats
C1 1000m - 5 boats
C2 500m - 8 boats
WOMEN
K1 500m - 7 boats
K2 500m - 6 boats
K4 500m - 10 boats
C1 200m - 5 boats
C2 500m - 8 boats
And if I may add an additional rule. For example. If a country qualifies K2 crew and nobody on K1 qualifies from any qualification event, the country is allowed to sign up a competitor to K1, but it must be a competitor who is a member of K2 crew.
Am I right about these qualification rules for this WCH and generally for signing up more boats?
This is correct, except there's also the "doubling-up" stuff with this qualification system.
Honestly, it's better to think about this in terms of athlete quotas per discipline than boat quotas, because the number of boats depend on how many athletes qualify from a nation.
Athlete quotas given out at the Worlds:
Men's Kayak - 58 quotas
Men's Canoe - 21 quotas
Women's Kayak - 58 quotas
Women's Canoe - 21 quotas

We will likely have more than 7 European nations in the final, so qualifying for the final might not be enough for them. We got screwed really hard by this draw, Spain and Germany will take the top two spots in SF3 and we will have to fight against Czech Republic and France for our survival...
