match, I think it's safe to say that we won't have much a chance against either of these teams in the QFs (if we will qualify for the QFs). Both US and France look good for the quotas.
I am expecting the same thing that happened to us in mixed curling. If the top tier basketball nations will take it seriously now that it's an Olympic event, just like how the top tier curling nations did in mixed doubles once it was at the Games, we won't have much a chance to qualify.
It's time for FIBA to just cancel the WR qualification and let 6 or 7 teams qualify from the QT depending on which host team gets the automatic quota.
I wish that a bigger newspaper would write a story about this, because it's truly bizarre. You don't have to be an Olympics fan to notice how ridiculous and broken this qualification system is.

Well, personally I’m mixed about this changes, the folks over in the IOC are failing to realise that events with small amount of participants from a very select and small amount of countries are deemed to be limited in their exposure and thus their success, I mean outside of the mega successful countries the main focus in the games is on the mega stars and core sports and also where the local athletes at, if squash or cricket is bound to be limited to small amount of participants, then it will not get a lot of exposure and will be eventually be like the baseball on and off all the time, I like the idea of adding the 50m in swimming to all styles because you can have a lot of countries involved, also the compound archery making archery bigger and climbing as well for me are good changes -

I think for cricket, given the state of affairs of West Indies cricket 1 America doesn't sound right. Oceania is definitely going to get 1 with Australia and New Zealand both present. It could be Europe-America combined 1. But that said it could well be top 5 in ICC rankings+ Hosts -

I missed the detail and I also hope he's gonna swim all of his program, even if the news about the 50m events being added to the Olympic schedule might mean the end of any attempt to swim a 200m competition for Thomas...I think (fear) now he would focus only on the 50/100m back, fly and 100m free (only because of the relays)

Not sure what the hold up in the FIS posting it is, but Lee Wen-yi of has met the Olympic standard (118.95 in slalom). Also Nino Tsiklauri from easily earns them a quota, I believe it should have been met back in February from the four slalom results, but I am never sure about when the 20% extra for missing results is used.

Nice win against the Netherlands, the QF should be almost certainly secured now. But we need to play better if we want to qualify.
