However, there's been some controversy(another article) over the nomination of Sealy. Kaina Martinez was closer to qualifying, winning this years Central American Championships 100m with a time of 11.56 (the closer a Belizean athlete came to making the qualification standard), in addition to help Belize win the 4x100m relay and earning a silver in 200m. On its part Jones won the Triple Jump with a 16.22m attempt (rather good considering the wind was -1.9) In my opinion, Martinez was screwed by its own people, and in case Belizean Committee didn't read qualification rules, Sealy is not eligible to compete in heptathlon under a universality place. They applied for two more wild cards (in judo and archery) but didn't get them sadly.
