heywoodu 10,945 Posted May 9 #2 Share Posted May 9 Apparently belief in a Brazilian woman qualifying isn't very big in Brazil, due to changes compared to Tokyo's qualifying system. What exactly changed (for a country like Brazil)? I heard something about certain races not counting anymore, which is negative for countries like Brazil, but not sure about the details. Looks like they have disabled points farming on small-time races. Only the top tier races will count. To be honest, Brazil was not really the frontrunner in the points farming department. Some other nations will suffer much more (and consequently will fail to qualify this time around). Well if the end result is the same (no real shot at a ticket given their current quality), the damage in the end is kind of the same

In the qualification document I see "The events included in the UCI Mountain Bike Olympic Qualification ranking can be found here", and then it links to: https://www.uci.org/calendar/mtb/1voMyukVGR4iZMhMlDfRv0?discipline=MTB Which is just the UCI MTB calendar page
Vojthas 902 Posted May 10 #6 Share Posted May 10 I was hoping for UCI to prepare an Olympic Ranking as well with their newest update of the World Ranking. But maybe the Totallympians will sum up, how it goes week by week?
EupenM 123 Posted May 11 #7 Share Posted May 11 Are all the World Cup competitions counted for the Olympic Qualification Ranking (cross-country, U23, short track)? Or only cross-country?

Or only cross-country? Short XCO counts too, but it's totally insignificant, the winner get 10 points (for compare, the national XCO championship winner get 100 points) Vojthas and EupenM 1
Vojthas 902 Posted May 11 #9 Share Posted May 11 But the Albstadt short doesn't count. The ranking started on Saturday, the short one was on Friday. MTB.xlsx
