  3. So I did some brief googling and found this interview from early 2021 to our sport news site. https://sport.aktuality.sk/c/454937/jedna-z-najtalentovanejsich-tenistiek-sucasnosti-jelena-rybakinova-sa-pripravuje-v-bratislave/ She actually really train and spend a lot of time in Bratislava, had no idea about this at all. Apparently it was an idea of her big friend Daria Kasatkina who train and live here regularly. Last year Rybakina seems spend all her pre-season preparation in Bratislava with the local girls Schmiedlová, Kučová, Kužmová and the "Slovak" Swiss Belinda Benčič However did not find anything more recent from this year for example, but if she mentioned it, it may be true.
  4. No idea, probably she meant Slovenia ?
  5. Slovakia at the World Games 2022 0 - 0 - 2 First 2 medals for Slovakia came both in the Day 2 of the competitions. Ingrida Suchánková (left) in Karate and Zuzana Hrašková (Right) in Finswimming --------------------------------------------------------------------- Team Day 2 Results Saturday 9th. KARATE: -61kg Kumite W 3. Ingrida Suchánková Advanced to the Semifinals from 1st Place as winner of her Pool, despite losing already in the opening bout to Haya Jumaa of 2:3, but after her win in the next matches against Alexandra Grande 6:5 and Anna-Johanna Nilsson 4-2 she topped the group B. In the Semifinal she lost to the eventual gold medalist Anita Serogina of 2:3, which send her to the Bronze Medal bout she at the end finished by win 3:1 against Dahab Ali from FINSWIMMING: 100m Bi-Fins W 3. Zuzana Hrašková The 400m Bi-Fins World record holder arrived to the games a bit disappointed to not have her strong event in the World Games schedule, but still ended by eventually winning a surprising bronze in her less prefered 100m race. In the lane 1 she had not the best start possible being 7th after 50 meters but a really strong finish catapulted her to the bronze medal position behind the two Hungarian girls and only 0.06 ahead of Antonina Dudek from POWERLIFTING: -72kg Heavyweight W 7. Ivana Horná Bunch of national records were rewitten last night by Ivana Horná, In all 3 events with 215kg in the Squat, 140kg in the bench press and 235kg in the deadlift, improved her pb and NR by 5kg in first two and by 7 and half kg in the last discipline. In overall it was more than a decent 7th place with a new pb and national record of 590kg a 17.5kg higher than the previous record. PARACHUTING: Canopy Piloting M 6. (After Stage 4/12) Roman Dubský After the first 4 events of the Canopy Piloting Roman Dubský sit at a very nice 6th place (was 4th in Accuracy, 9th in Distance, 16th in Freestyle and 18th in Speed) The Competition will resume and coplete with all the remaining 8 stages on the next day. 6. Oh wow our first 2 medals in day 2, that is something I would not have expected at all. We have here only 12 athletes (The Standard Dancing pair had to withdraw after the lady sprained her ankle during training ) and they already won 2 medals haha (Still Chochlíková to come conquering the Sweet Alabama in Kickbox & Muay Thai )

  10. Some quick stats from the Draft The NHL clubs this year have drafted a total of: 87 players born in 49 from the 26 from Sweden 25 from Russia 14 from Finland 7 Czechs 6 Slovaks 3 Latvians 2 players each from Germany , Switzerland and Austria and 1 from Belarus and one from Poland @Monzanator As mentioned above Juraj Slafkovský is the only 9th European player drafted #1 in the history of the NHL and Slovakia is only the second European country in history with the top two picks in the NHL Draft after Russia in 2004 (Ovechkin and Malkin drafted 1 and 2) Also Juraj Slafkovský is the first ever #1 NHL draft pick player from Ligue (This is really enormous surprise I must say, never before any player from the SM Liiga was drafted numero uno) And finally gazillions of new records for Slovakia. a- Marian Gáborík's national record (3rd by Minnesota in 2000) was sent into the history this year by both Slaf and Nemec. b- Nemec is the highest drafted Slovak defender ever. Also he became the First ever Slovak blueliner drafted as #1 among all defenders (also applies obviously for Slaf among forwards, both highest slovak darfted forward ever and first slovak forward drafted as first forward overall) c- for the first time in history, 3 Slovaks were drafted in the first round !!! d- 6 players drafted overall, is the highest number since 2005 when 7 Slovaks were drafted. (the absolute record is simply eternal, from 2000 with 16 Slovaks picked out)
  11. The Draft is officially over. 6 players drafted ! 1. Juraj Slafkovský - Montreal 2. Šimon Nemec - New Jersey 26. Filip Mešár - Montreal 63. Adam Sýkora - NY Rangers 185. Servác Petrovský - Minnesota 204. Adam Žlnka - Arizona
  12. and another gold. Talented 16 years old Zuzana Paňková is the W Junior C1 World Champion

  15. After her Seniors European Champion title from last month, Eliška Mintálová became today also the U23 World Champion in W K1 ahead of Emma Vuitton and Maria Doria Villarubla It was the 4th Slovak medal in Ivrea (2nd gold) after the M Junior K1 Teams gold, W Juniors K1 Team Silver and W Junior C1 Team Bronze.
  16. team at the Opening Ceremony. Monika Chochlíková (our sole medal favorite in both her sports Kickboxing and Muaythai) was once again like at the last edition the flag bearer, the tall girl in the middle of the pic
  17. Also I just learn that Slaf is only the 9th European ever to be the NHL Draft #1 and Slovakia is the only 2nd non-North-American country to have first 2 picks in one Draft (After Russia in 2004 when Ovechkin and Malkin were drafted 1 and 2) Absolutely insane what happened last night. Nobody in this country is today focusing on the work, nobody, everyone just talking about the draft over and over
  18. @phelps Thanks for the nice words my friend. Yes it was just A SPECIAL NIGHT for me, for the boys, for us, for our sport, history and everything btw one cute moment going viral now : The 3 kids (Nemec, Slaf and Mešár) 10 years ago The 3 kids (Nemec, Slaf and Mešár) 10 years after
