  3. Really happy for Hugo Houle, nice dedication for his brother who was killed by a drunk driver. Both were huge fans of the Tour and watched it in TV when they were teenagers. He never had a chance to dedicate a win for him, since he actually never, never, I mean never win a course in his pro career but what a moment it must be for him today. Huge congrats Hugo !

The medal finally came in the last possible discipline with Slovak participation on the final competitive day of the Games. Monika dominated her Under 51Kg class category and earned the Muay Thai Flyweight gold, as she mentioned to the media right after her triumph, the gold was a great satisfaction for her for the unlucky and botched kickboxing from earlier this week.
  9. I see, well, maybe just a "bad day" with the pressure today for your girls ? However it is still a medal and I guess it is not easy at all to reach the final in field hockey nowadays, so congrats and hope you will be able to enjoy it later once the first disappointment will disapear
  10. was not the same GMG final score also at the last olympics ?

  15. Slovakia at the World Games 2022 0 - 1 - 2 4th medal of the games secured for team Slovakia, when the Slovak World Games 2022 Opening Ceremony flag bearer and slovak delegation´s "poster girl star" Monika Chochlíková was designated as the winner of her Semifinal Muay Thai W -51kg contest over the Austrian Rebecca Hodl by unanimous decision --------------------------------------------------------------------- Team Day 9 Results Saturday 16th Duathlon: Individual W -. Nikola Čorbová DSQ Odd, Strange and hard warm Day experienced yesterday our sole Duathlon participant at the Games, Nikola Čorbová, but also more than a half of starters with her as well... A bit of scandalous taste had the end of the W Individual competition in the streets of Birmingham... Nikola was in the lead group during the Cycling 40 kms part (as it was revealed later, undesirably she and her lead group partners - did 45km ), sadly during this part, because of poor organization and very bad track markings, the group went to the wrong way and did literally one more lap in cycling than they should have... Nikola arrived to the finish line in 15th position, which was her best careers result, just to be later informed that she, like all the group, is disqualified... Muay Thai: -51kg W Semifinals Monika Chochlíková 30 - 27 Rebecca Hodl Qualified to the Gold Medal Bout and to the enormous joy of Slovak sport fans Monika managed to handle the pressure after the flop in the Kickboxing, and secured herself yet another medal from the World Games, She will not return home empty handed from Birmingham either. Even, if she wanted to win in both events, but in opposite to her strongest Kickboxing, paradoxically it was in the Muay Thai where she was clearly more successful this time in Alabama. In yesterday semifinal she totally dominated the fight over her Austrian opponent, winning by unanimous decision, The Ring judge even had to count the Austrian in Round 2. but she was allowed to continue and complete the match anyway. Monika will fight for Gold in this last Day of the games against the reigning world champion Meriem El-Moubarik of Pics: SOŠV.sk
  16. So apparently more than half of the Womens Duathlon athletes was disqualified after the race including (our sole athlete in the race, originally 15th) and the original gold medalist from and bronze medalist from because they all did 1 more lap in cycling than was necessary They were furious agianst the organizers, in interviews, our athlete said to our NOC "The organization on the track was disastrous. No one showed us the direction for the cycling in our first lap, we all in our leading group had no idea if we were going the right way. We were a larger group working together. I feel like we went a lap more than we should have... now after the race they disqualified all of us" Sweet Alabama never disappoint
  17. yeah, well, it is only 10 days after the draft, so obviously there not many space for other sports in our medias and newspapers yet now but, yeah, I did not feel able to adequately make right predictions, as I did not have much time to evaluate this year´s performances and marks of the starting athletes so I decided to skip this contest, but I will definitely participate in the next one. Good luck to all participants, wish you guys a good contest.
