  1. My inspired Christmas dinner There is more on offer, but I’m a simple man. All I need is olives, mashed potatoes, and some meat. The olives were very sour and perfect @heywoodu (And yes, I am eating with my family. I was just the first one ready )
  2. Nope, three blocks down from my house. Nice try, but go ahead and shove your negativity up where the sun doesn’t shine
  3. I was just joking by the way, it was not meant as an insult,
  4. This wonderful Totallympics friend of yours wants you to know that “wonderful” and “holiday” have 1 L.
  5. #FirstWorldProblems To be fair, don’t ask for a lot from my parents, and I’m very minimalist (in terms of the US), so that’s my excuse for the monitor.
  6. Got some nice custom made things for Tokyo this summer: Got a nice 4K monitor just in time for the YOG too . I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, and realizes that gifts are fun, but not the most important of the holidays. I normally wouldn’t make a post about mine, but it seemed to fit the theme of the forum. Merry Christmas
  7. Ice Hockey will be on YouTube and the Olympic Channel
  8. Apparently North Korea will be giving the US a “gift” today. Everyone on Twitter is convinced they’re nuking California, so... My Christmas has been great so far, how has y’alls been?
  9. ...And it’s Christmas
  10. As is tradition, I will be the last Totallympian for Santa to visit . I’ll also be the last Totallympian in the 2010s decade
  11. It’s quiet on here around Christmas
  12. We’re no longer friends. I grew up on Home Alone 3. It’s not better than one, but it’s 10 times better than 2.
  13. Yeah, most people just stick to Home Alone nowadays. No need to watch the sequel. Home Alone 3 isn’t terrible.
  14. Well that kind ruins the fun of my post then, doesn’t it?
  15. Wow, not even a single Feliz Natal for you know who...
  16. @Ustatsch I don’t remember asking, but apologies if I already did... Are you attending the games? Or participating in any of the games activities?
  17. Winter: Lowell Bailey, Lindsey Vonn, Mikayla Shiffrin, Ted Ligety, Brittany Bowe, Joey Mantia, Shawn White, Lindsey Jacobelis, Bode Miller, David Wise, Gus Kenworthy (your welcome ), Nathan Chen, Davis/Partner Summer: Casey Eichfield
  18. I have a random hat from Chile, a Ferrari cap, a PSG jersey, and for some odd reason, a Turkish National Team jersey.
  19. Alright, European-American Christmas is probably the best way to describe how many family celebrates. I used to go mass on Christmas Eve (generally at 5PM), though I don’t anymore. Christmas Eve dinner would generally be at 6:30, and then we’d to go to the local cinema and catch a comedy of some sort. Tonight however, we’re going to my wealthy Step-Grandmother’s house to have Christmas Eve dinner with her side of the family for a change. It’s about an hour and half drive to her house, so we’ll drive back home tonight. My family will probably go to bed rather, which has always been the case (especially when Santa was real for those few years ), though I may stay up later and watch the NORAD Santa Tracker (as I will throughout the day because it’s fun (I believe he’s over Oceania at the minute)). In morning we’ll all wake, and gather in the hallway, before proceeding out to up gifts together (this used to happen at 6AM, but I’ve been told Santa made a mess, and so we should probably wait until 8AM ). “Santa” will have filled our stockings (mine being a NASCAR themed one from my childhood), and then will open presents from one another (My parents chose to say Santa did stockings, and they did the presents (when I was younger). Stockings/Gifts will take about two hours to get through. Then all go off and do our own preparations before family comes over in the evening. We’ll have a Christmas dinner that mirrors our Thanksgiving dinner (Ham instead of Turkey generally). Board Games/Card Games will be played. My family will play an ultra-completive game of (Nertz), a card game that’s in the realm of solitaire, but played in pairs and with lots of threats and swearing. After that, we’ll play a funny social-engineering games or something. Then everyone goes to sleep, and I watch SNL Christmas Skits. In terms of a lights/tree... We always put up our Christmas lights on the Friday after Thanksgiving, and leave them up until a few days after New Years Day. We generally put our tree up in the first week of December, though we did it at the start of the second week this year. We don’t really have anything to special to eat (though I’ll post something if I didn’t remember), and there’s not really any dinner traditions we partake in. I will be listening to Christmas music non-stop today and tomorrow. The 25th is most important day for us. We have a very small chance at a White Christmas (which would be insane). Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and an early, Happy Kwanza.
  20. I’m just more surprised that people still use real trees
  21. Just passing on an idea/message I saw online. The Holidays can be a lonely time for people for a multitude of reasons. In the “Season of Giving” it’s important not to leave anyone behind. I’ve seen a few people posting hotlines and whatnot, and I decided I could chip in a bit. So, if anyone around here is a bit lonely this Christmas, or feeling down about life, I’ll be hanging around the forum tomorrow and Wednesday. People should know by now that I take other people’s mental and physical health very seriously. I’m always down to have conversation with someone, or talk sports, cultures, geography, or anything else really. So if talking sports of whatever else will help you get trough a lonely or depressing holiday season, just ask for me. I respond to messages anywhere (on the forum, on Twitter, through email, etc.). A friend is around if you need one Just wanted to add that I’m not trying to be over-bearing, or insinuate that their are people in that position on the forum. I just though I better post my usual, I’m always here if you need someone message, since the holidays can be rough for some people. I hope that you all have a wonderful Christmas Eve, Christmas, Orthodox Christmas (y’all celebrate it on a different day of something right?)
  22. No, I’m smart. California is paying for my first year of education. Next year will cost me $1,500. The next 2-3 years after will cost me around $15,000-25,000 I’m afraid. I should be able to pay off loans rather easily (if I ever need any). I just finished my first semester with 27/30 credits (most students have 15-18 after their first semester). I need about 120-140 for a bachelors degree. I’m on track for 4-4 1/2 year graduation.
  23. Yeah I could see that. I spent most life as a cynical person. I’ve always been an idealist (and probably will be, its just who I am), but recently, I’ve been trying out optimism. It’s worked so far, so I’m going to stick with it for a while. I think the idealist v. realist is a good explanation. Also figured I should wish you a great Christmas Eve since Vojthas told me that was the important day in Poland.
  24. Organization of the Year: World Taekwondo
  25. @Monzanator Do you have any theories as to why we seem to always be at a difference? It’s just so curious to me that it’s almost always you and me that find each in a debate. We have a rough past history, but I feel like a recent interactions haven’t been negative. They’ve been more actual debates I feel like. I’m just curious as to what your prospective on this is.
