  1. Here’s Lausanne2020’s response to my tweet asking about the local way to say “good day” and “hello”:
  2. Jumamji was pretty good, I actually just saw it a few hours ago . It’s was entertaining for sure (as you would expect it to be). I can give a random multi-sports games replay if you want
  3. Also, ten points to whoever can tell mean what this means: ᎤᎾᏥ
  4. It’s especially odd since the Dutch are only really known to argue about warm pancakes...
  5. I would imagine that you’re referring to Schwyzertüütsch (Swiss-German), which I also learned was a thing today. @Vojthas actually seemed to know a bit about that one
  6. While doing research on Switzerland for the 2020 YOG, I came across Romansch. This has to be one of the most unique European languages I’ve seen. It’s really weird. It looks semi-German, but it also has a lot in common with the Romance languages. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll need to use any of it in our coverage since Lausanne is in the French speaking part of Switzerland. Maybe @Ustatsch can give me some more background on Romansch? (I already notice a similarity there )
  7. If there are any artists on the forum, I’d love to see some cover art (3000 x 3000 pixels) for TWU. It’d be incredibly helpful, and much appreciated. My graphic design skills are mediocre at best, and it will take me a long to design something myself.
  8. We all know I love culture, but I live when culture (misunderstandings) meet comedy
  9. Damn , Jesus was quite the athlete in his day
  10. They didn’t in my opinion. That loss was on the organizers.
  11. Here’s a recap of the bronze medal race: attempt 1: start gate failure attempt 2: start gate failure attempt 3: start gate failure ruled winner by DSQ (even though Mexico had proved they could start properly on attempt 2 when Brazil couldn’t) Gold Medal Race also had 2 start gate failures. Team Pursuit, and women’s races were also plagued by start gate failures. The volunteers had no fucking idea what they were doing, and it was obviously the federation had not trained them to use the equipment. In fact, members of the Peruvian federation seemed confused about the start gate as well.
  12. He was busted almost instantaneously from what I remember too (which is fine because their medal was bullshit from what I remember).
  13. Thank god they have Paul, but I’m sure there’ll be questions about him too now . It’s a shame Phillip resorted to doping. He was one of my favorite athletes around 2012. Nowadays Paul is my favorite track cyclist.
  14. I’ve decided to try and get through all the Lillehammer2016 replays before Lausanne2020. Not difficult, just time consuming during a busy part of the year.
  15. Full breakdown of changes: https://games24.totallympics.com/?p=1161 Yes, Panam Sports sent a corrected table the media this morning. You can find it in the article above They claimed it was just an error regarding the tiebreak method for the medal table.
  16. We are trying to make our podcasts much interesting, and with more personality. We’re also looking for more community engagement. If you have an idea for an episode or segment, let me know. If you’d like to come on and talk about something, or help with a fun segment, let me know as well.
  17. Well it’s a rather large spoiler (that’s been out for weeks) for people don’t have Disney+, and haven’t been watching the Mandolorian
  18. Always a catch
  19. Absolutely horrific situation unfolding in Almaty
  20. The emotional burden this man has carried
  21. I may also provide a very similar service for the forum . I do more video archive/replay lists though. Olympic Channel eliminated all my fun for the 2020 Winter YOG by posting their own schedule for streaming (I’d still love to work for them though)
  22. Definitely in the right place. What do you do media wise? I’d love to work an Olympics (I’ll be in Tokyo as a “freelance”, though I run my own publication)
  23. As promised, 2022 Winter Olympics qualification breakdown: https://anchor.fm/twu/episodes/TWU-1-2022-Winter-Olympics-Qualification-Emergency-Episode-e9qr2p (can also be found on Apple Podcasts and Spotify (just search Totallympics Audio Service)
  24. Sure, there’s nothing wrong with that. In fact, part of the problem is how much money it’s going to take to raise a child in this country. We’ve decided to see them all as title consumers, instead of as people in training.
