I have so many replays to chose from, that I haven’t watched a single replay one week into my summer break It’s too hard to chose, so I chose to not make a choice.

I didn’t see any journalists being violently attacked. Sure, those people are dicks for asking them to move and chasing them, but it wasn’t a targeted violent attack on a journalist like we’ve seen from police around the United States.

I have seen any video of American protestors chasing away journalists yet. I’m sure it exists, but I haven’t seen it. The police have made many targeted/purposeful attacks on journalists though, so I still stand by my statements against them.

The issue with the Sion bids is that the Swiss public was educated enough to know that hosting the Olympics was a poor choice based on the modern track record of the last few games.

I wouldn’t exactly consider that a problem with the venue. It’s not like Biathlon is popular in the U.S., and Soldier Hollow is still a nice venue. Baku has a beautiful Aquatics Centre that often well filled for events, and Azerbaijan has zero Aquatics tradition.

From the ones I’ve seen, I’ve only ever been to Soldier Hollow, I really like Almaty, Les Tuffes, and Antholz-Anterselva (at least based off venues I can remember vividly, and love of their trails). I like venues that are really unique, and standout. I like trails with natural scenery, difficult climbs/descents, and unique layouts/features.

To be fair, you also just can’t level stories like this without the proper facts, proof, primary/secondary sources, and checking of all those criteria. I’m not saying they shouldn’t have made that case against him earlier; I’m just saying that we should be thankful they eventually did. I don’t know what German label/slander laws are like, but I’m sure they’re not as protective (for journalists) as their American counterparts. You can pretty much whatever you want about someone in the U.S. as long as you have a source or two, but that’s not the case in most countries. We need also consider the amount of time that goes into producing a documentary like this. That requires time to collect b-roll, conduct voice-overs, amd then fact check/produce/edit all of that.

This is why I claimed that every national federation was guilty.

Personally, I’d chose Commonwealth Games over World Cup games any day, but obviously I’m very much in the minority there

Unfortunately, I think you’re absolutely correct here.

Some of the biggest protests we’ve seen so far in the U.S. today. It seems like almost all of them have stayed peaceful. It will be interesting to see where the BLM movement goes from here.
