As I think, in a few our attention will shift towards summer sports, and qualification period for almost every sport is about to begin. (Or, at least, we're going to know soon about qualification criteria). 
 
With this topic, I would like to create a list of links to other topic in the forum so that anybody can reach information about qualification criteria, quota distribution, qualifying events and so on. 
 
Please excuse me if this topic was already existing, but I didn't find anything similar. 
 
Obviously, it is going to be impossible to keep it up to date alone, (plus, I'm not granting I can be really active on the forum), so I'm asking admins/mods to update it when news are available

I'm doing relatively well on hockey. That makes no sense, I don't even know how long a match lasts 

Outdoor venues would be nice. Many venues used for the Olympics can be used for other sports/activities. The issue for host cities is that the IOC wants the seating capacity to be high. The smallest venue for the 2020 Olympics is 5000 seats with many of them reaching over 10,000 seats. Most cities don't need multiple 10,000 seat venues which is why most host cities are left with "white elephant" venues. I bet many cities would be willing to host if the IOC allowed some events to be held at ~2000 seat venues.

Here are the last things I know about other sports:
 
1) http://www.rollersports.org/discipline/skateboarding/news/item/1341-skateboarding-at-the-olympic-games-tokyo-2020 it is a link with general explanation on Olympic qualification for skateboard but it almost says nothing you cannot imagine;
 
2) Judo olympic qualification period will start in May, with the first tournament for earning points being the Hohhot Open in China on May 22, if I remember well;
 
3) For baseball, Premier 12 (8-21 November 2019) will assign at least one quota; this should mean that Softball World championships (2-11 August 2018 in Japan) will do the same;
 
4) Triathlon qualification period should be from May 11 2018 to March 10 2020, with the first event to be used for point ranking that should be World Series in Yokohama, starting on May 12 2018;
 
5) This season Beach Volley World Tour will be used to define a 16-pair tournament (1 per NOC) which will play an Olympic qualification tournament next year, I suppose before World Championships.

I was always wondering why Portugal was not invited xD 

In realtà secondo me era più prevedibile quella di Pellegrino che quella di Fontana, anche a livello di colore. In tutta la stagione, sia in libera che in classica Pellegrino gli ha tenuto testa, o comunque era il meno staccato, anzi, a tratti io l'ho visto meglio in classica che in libera.
Lo short track è tanto bello quanto imprevedibile, e non è mai facile arrivare in fondo. Difatti oggi quando ho visto la gara insieme a mio padre, che non ha la più pallida idea della disciplina, lui mi ha chiesto: "quindi ha vinto?" e io gli ho detto che conta prima di tutto non essere squalificati in questo sport 
 
E comunque, l'oro di Arianna è stato una goduria migliore della lasagna di carnevale!

This is referred to 2018, only 1 continental championship per continent will be counted for olympic ranking list, the last to be held during qualification period. It should probably going to be European Championships 2019 in Spain

as to cycling and tennis it depends, i think we will find athletes more eager on Olympics than Grand Slam or Le Tour. I think it`s too general to write like LDOG. As to boxing, hmm...olympic and pro are a bit different sports but sure, pro boxing is far more prestiguous.
 
I think golf and men`s football are the best examples in this case. Rugby 7s is also a bit different than other versions of this sport so i`m not sure if i can write that RUGBY has more important events than olympic 7s.

In total, there should be 392 events. However, they are just added to sports already in the olympic programme, with the exception of roller sports. And, especially as regards track cycling, I cannot understand why build a velodrome to be used for only 1 sport only 7 days
