I was going for 9k in 54 minutes last Wednesday (increasing my 6:00/km endurance with 1km per week, then I'll end up with exactly the half marathon total on 4 April), but managed to push out 10km in a bit over 59 minutes Next Wednesday the challenge is 11k in 1:06, let's see.

No, I like the pursuit as a race, no problem with that. The format shouldn't change, it just shouldn't be the case that BOTH the sprint and pursuit are awarded Olympic medals. About biathlon-specific events like the world championships or World Cup, I find it much less of a problem.

There's qualifiers to give everyone a chance to qualify, and there's a main tournament where we just don't really need teams who regularly lose matches by 10-15 goals on average, or more. Those teams should have been weeded out in the qualifiers.
