  1. It could be a case of FEI making an administrative mistake as well?
  2. Sally Pearson is apparently injured again (hamstring) and will miss the Olympics http://www.supersport.com/athletics/article.aspx?Id=3593814
  3. Scott Brash (GBR) will miss the Olympics since both of his horses are injured. http://www.bbc.com/sport/olympics/36657950
  4. You can still beat them in the medal table
  5. Coubertin would ban women from the Olympics too if it were up to him, so I doubt we should take his thoughts too serious nowadays
  6. Me I won't post spoilers here, but man, it was awesome, the last two episodes were some of the best episodes I have ever seen in any series
  7. Because not every country thinks "Oh alright, you might not have a realistic chance to get a top-20 result, but come on, have fun!" I can accept countries wanting their athletes to show a certain capability to at least get close to the top spots, which the international standards usually don't require.
  8. Oh no, that's a seriously tough group for Kenya
  9. It's interesting that the strongest of the nations with less inhabitants only want top competitors at the Olympics and only want Olympians who actually really deserve it, unlike the real powerhouses who simply want to have as many people as possible to refer to as "Olympian" in their media
  10. +1 for us? I'm fairly sure you can give that to the next nation because Terpstra didn't qualify unfortunately.
  11. Dutch swimmers will have their last chances to qualify next weekend, after that I'm expecting the team to be announced within days.
  12. And that's Jason Day out of the Olympics as well, "because of Zika".
  13. Welcome If you do happen to do something wrong, I'm sure nobody will kick you out, so no worries
  14. Mountainbiker Martin Gruth won the German national championships road race.....or so he thought He sprinted, thought he beat the likes of Kittel and Greipel and was of course happy, until he saw the peloton pass him at full speed and realized there was still one lap to go by the way is exactly what you see Fabian Wegmann do in the background Belgian article, the video is in there (I guess it's on Youtube as well, but I didn't have the spirit to search for that on my phone ) http://www.hln.be/hln/nl/9091/Time-out/article/detail/2774558/2016/06/28/Om-door-de-grond-te-zakken-Duitse-nobody-denkt-dat-hij-zich-onsterfelijk-maakt-De-ontnuchtering-volgt-snel.dhtml
  15. Well to be fair about Ledecky, she has basically no reason to go absolutely 100% here, because the chances of her not making the team with a 95% swim on 400m and 800m are very, very small. I think she'll go quite a bit faster in Rio and I definitely see her break the WR there. About the relay: Bowman (both Phelps' and the national team's coach) has said that if Phelps is in good shape in his usual events, he'll probably be included in the relay team anyway, so it wasn't completely necessary for him to swim the 200 free at the trials (especially since he wasn't really planning on doing it individually in Rio anyway).
  16. [hide] Knockout Round June 25th - July 10th, 2016 16 Nations, Round of 16, Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Final, winning Nation will become Men's Football UEFA Euro 2016 Champion Quarterfinals Central European Summer Time (GMT +2) Date and Venue Team 1 T1 T2 Team 2 June 30th 2016, h. 21:00, Stade Velodrome, Marseille Poland 1 0 Portugal July 1st 2016, h. 21:00, Stade Pierre-Mauroy, Lille Wales 0 2 Belgium July 2nd 2016, h. 21:00, Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux, Bordeaux Germany 1 0 Italy July 3rd 2016, h. 21:00, Stade de France, Saint-Denis France 0 1 Iceland [/hide]
  17. That GIF And yeah, you're right, but we've also seen many Americans who were very good at trials but even better at the Olympics themselves Same goes for the Aussie's by the way, it's not like they are always so perfect when it comes to having their top shape at the right moment...same goes for the Japanese
  18. I wonder with what kind of mindset Mitch Larkin was watching the finals
  19. It means the devil is upon us Or, Polyan --> Polen (Dutch) --> Poland --> Poland will win Euro 2016
  20. 52.12 and 52.28 for Plummer and Murphy in the 100m backstroke semi's, most impressive results of the day at the US trials Although Ledecky's 3:58.98 isn't bad at all neither Franklin seems to be in horrible shape and barely made the final on the 100 back..
  21. Oh crap...can someone miss out on the Olympics in a more sad way apart from injuries?
  22. http://www.cavalier-romand.ch/fr/Actualites/Complet/CICO3-de-Strzegom-les-reves-de-JO-se-sont-envoles-pour-Melody-Johner.html This is about that situation, but I can't exactly get what happened. Does it say her horse refused to jump one obstacle and that resulted in her not being selected?
  23. Maybe they care as much as most Dutch people about our team not qualifying
  24. That's the one I meant and exactly the first reaction I read on a Dutch forum: "Great, our big rivals won the CT so they're not gonna win the gold, one down.."
