  1. I'd cheer for one of the Zielinski brothers (or both, though not that realistic) taking a medal
  2. Both/ambos
  3. Silly thing about doping, they always magically ingest it without knowing it
  4. Or "who is next in line gets the ticket"?
  5. I doubt it will happen, but man it would be unbelievably cool to see him win a medal Though I still am really not feeling good about the athletes who actually qualified Slovakia being completely left out
  6. 7-8 gold medals, 27-28 total medals. We don't have a lot of clear favourites though (1-2), but in a ton of events we have a decent medal chance. 2 gold medals wouldn't surprise me (but given the possibilities it would of course disappoint me), but neither would 9-10 gold medals. 17 medals wouldn't surprise me, but neither would 30.
  7. 8. Though on the other hand, it will be impossible to make a complete set of predictions without at least some people thinking that certain things are rubbish
  9. Fun to see three times taekwondo in a row, two of whom have the only chance to win a very rare medal for their nation
  10. It's Saturday....who gets it in his mind to have a major classic on Saturday And apart from that I'm too busy with the preparations for Rio so I forgot it, but I'll take a look, thanks
  11. Unbelievable, I forget ONE race and immediately Bauke wins one of the big classics
  12. And even 4 gold medals is only realistic if everything goes completely perfect
  13. Me neither anymore, but the thing was about IAAF banning Russia entirely and only allowing selected athletes to compete as neutrals.
  14. Klishina will compete as a Russian athlete if Russian media are correct? http://www.sport-express.ru/olympics/rio2016/athletics/news/vitaliy-mutko-vsya-sbornaya-budet-vystupat-pod-rossiyskim-flagom-v-tom-chisle-darya-klishina-1027176/
  15. Zakarin was already in the plane but had to be taken off when UCI decided not to allow him to compete in Rio, ouch. http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/zakarin-pulled-from-flight-to-rio-olympics-at-last-minute/
  16. But for Denmark as a whole I doubt it matters a lot, since it looks like the only road to a medal that would be significantly easier for him would be by being in either Sugiarto's group or Axelsen's group (without Sugiarto/Axelsen being in it of course), though then he'd still face Chen Long in the semi's
  17. In short: our national TV will probably have mostly the Dutch athletes live and then will spend way too much time talking and talking and talking in the studio resulting in them missing live events. The good side is that they will have 14 live streams on their website And of course I can tune in to the Belgians and Germans and probably the Brits as well on TV
  18. Maybe if they are truly expecting 5 gold medals, they are a bit delusional
  19. That makes sense Do you think these draws will have some effect on the chances for certain athletes? I've been looking at the men's singles draw and it doesn't look like there's something that really changes the chances, maybe Lee Chong Wei and Lin Dan meeting in the semi's, but I doubt it changes a lot..
  20. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Badminton_at_the_2016_Summer_Olympics_–_Men's_singles Why is there no Group B?
  21. If I'm being honest, I'd rather see Russia participate than Kazakhstan and/or Azerbaijan.
